We are seeking an experienced Server Lab Infrastructure Engineer to support and advance our internal lab and compute infrastructure as a shared resource across multiple technical teams (SW Enablement, System Enablement, Platform Enablement). This role is central to ensuring reliable, secure compute environments - from bare metal server board bring-up through ongoing lab operations, cloud connectivity, and maintenance workflows.
You will own critical responsibilities spanning lab IT, networking, CI/CD systems, hardware board bring-up, server provisioning and maintenance, authentication services, and support escalations in both lab and public cloud environments. You will collaborate with procurement, datacenter partners, engineering teams, and internal users to enable high-performance development and validation workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Support multiple engineering and enablement teams.
- Assist server hardware board bring-up lab requirements - setup, NW, infrastructure
- Manage lab IT & networking infrastructure, including switches, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and connectivity validation.
- Maintain and enhance CI/CD services with emphasis on GitLab reliability, runners, pipelines, and integration with lab resources.
- Oversee backup, recovery, and scheduled maintenance procedures for lab systems and data stores.
- Administer MAAS instances for user profile management, authentication systems, and lifecycle maintenance.
- Execute server configuration automation, run provisioning scripts, and maintain configuration baselines.
- Coordinate Co-Lo handling and on-site infrastructure logistics (hardware staging, racking, cabling, power, remote access).
- Support Lab and Public Cloud LZ zone maintenance, ensuring security, compliance, incident response, and escalation handling for cloud services.
- Partner with procurement to specify, order, and onboard new compute and networking hardware aligned with lab and platform requirements.
- Provide platform enablement support - troubleshoot issues, document procedures, and train internal users on infrastructure best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in systems infrastructure, data center operations, or lab / hardware bring-up environments.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (VLANs, subnets, routing, DNS/DHCP).
- Experience managing CI/CD systems (GitLab preferred), runners, secret management, and pipeline scaling.
- Familiarity with automated provisioning tools (e.g., MAAS, PXE booting, Ansible, Terraform, or equivalent).
- Hands-on experience with Linux system administration and shell scripting (Bash, Python, etc.).
- Knowledge of backup and recovery systems, maintenance window planning, and service uptime SLAs.
- Experience supporting cloud environments and security escalations (AWS, Azure, GCP, or similar).
Preferred Skills
- Prior experience in co-location (Co-Lo) environments and remote infrastructure management.
- Experience with server hardware bring-up, BIOS/firmware validation, board-level diagnostics, and provisioning workflows.
- Experience with lab orchestration and hardware test frameworks.
- Familiarity with public cloud LAD/Z zone configurations and security tooling.
- Strong documentation skills and ability to develop operational SOPs and runbooks.
- Comfortable with cross-team collaboration and interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
What We Offer
- A collaborative environment working with cutting-edge hardware and software platforms.
- Opportunity to shape lab infrastructure used across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Competitive compensation and benefits package.
- Professional growth and technical leadership opportunities.
