The Role

At TigerData, formerly Timescale, we empower developers and businesses with the fastest PostgreSQL platform designed for transactional, analytical, and agentic workloads. Trusted globally by thousands of organizations, TigerData accelerates real-time insights, drives intelligent applications, and powers critical infrastructure at scale. As a globally distributed, remote-first team committed to direct communication, accountability, and collaborative excellence, we're shaping the future of data infrastructure, built for speed, flexibility, and simplicity.

We’re scaling rapidly, and to keep up with our growth, we’re looking for an SEO Marketing Manager to own and execute our search engine optimization strategy, helping TigerData become the go-to resource for developers seeking solutions for time-series data.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of SEO strategies for SaaS companies, experience working with technical content, and a proven track record of increasing organic traffic, search rankings, and inbound leads. This is a hands-on role with the opportunity to have a large impact across TigerData's marketing funnel.

What you will be responsible for in this role:

  • SEO Strategy: Owning the end-to-end SEO strategy, including keyword research, on-page SEO, off-page SEO, and technical SEO.

  • Keyword Targeting: Conduct keyword research to identify high-value terms and topics that align with TigerData's audiences, market trends, and goals.

  • Technical SEO: Work closely with the Web team to optimize site performance, ensure proper indexing, improve page load times, and implement structured data.

  • Link Building: Build and execute link-building campaigns focused on improving domain authority and creating relevant connections in the developer and database community.

  • Performance Analytics: Monitor and report on SEO performance metrics (organic traffic, rankings, click-through rates, bounce rates, etc.) and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Competitor Analysis: Stay updated on SEO trends, best practices, and competitor strategies in the SaaS and database technology space.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Demand Generation to connect SEO efforts with the broader marketing funnel and campaign strategies.

You could be a great fit if you have:

  • Proven experience in SEO and organic growth strategies, preferably for SaaS or technical audiences.

  • Strong technical knowledge of SEO, including schema markup, site indexing, and page performance optimization.

  • Familiarity with enterprise-grade SEO tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, and Google Analytics.

  • A data-driven approach to decision-making, with the ability to turn analytics into actionable insights.

  • A working understanding of developer tools, database technologies, or time-series solutions is a major plus.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with various teams, including Content, Product Marketing, Growth, and Engineering.

  • A track record of improving organic traffic, search rankings, and inbound lead generation for growing companies.

You Might Not Be A Great Fit If:

  • You don’t have experience working on a highly technical, developer product

  • You’re uncomfortable with a fast-paced, dynamic environment where priorities can shift quickly.

  • You do not have an interest in building your technical skills, and have a passion for developer tools.

Our Commitment:
  • We respond to every applicant.

  • We review applications fairly and objectively, and shortlist based on relevant skills and experience.

  • We ensure clear and timely communication throughout your candidate journey.

  • We maintain a rigorous interview process with a high bar, designed to give you the opportunity to meet various team members you'll collaborate with across our organization.

What We Do

Timescale is addressing one of the largest challenges (and opportunities) in databases for years to come: helping developers, businesses, and society make sense of the data that humans and their machines are generating in copious amounts. TimescaleDB is the only open-source time-series database that natively supports full-SQL, combining the power, reliability, and ease-of-use of a relational database with the scalability typically seen in NoSQL systems. It is built on PostgreSQL and optimized for fast ingest and complex queries. TimescaleDB is deployed for powering mission-critical applications, including industrial data analysis, complex monitoring systems, operational data warehousing, financial risk management, and geospatial asset tracking across industries as varied as manufacturing, space, utilities, oil & gas, logistics, mining, ad tech, finance, telecom, and more. Timescale is backed by NEA, Benchmark, Icon Ventures, Redpoint Ventures, Two Sigma Ventures, and Tiger Global.
