Job DescriptionWhat You’ll Do
Define & Scale SEO Strategy: Own Mudah’s SEO roadmap with a mandate to scale organic traffic to 100K+ daily clicks. Adapt to algorithm shifts, AI/LLM-driven changes in traditional search, and evolving user intent, ensuring traffic growth translates into qualified, high-intent visits.
Category-Specific Leadership: Develop tailored SEO strategies for Autos and Properties, accounting for supply-demand dynamics, content depth, and trust signals unique to each vertical.
Technical & Content Excellence: Strengthen site architecture, crawlability, Core Web Vitals, structured data, and indexation, while aligning content strategy with evolving user intent and marketplace needs.
Expand Discovery Channels: Experiment with emerging referral sources, including LLM/AI-driven discovery engines, to capture future traffic flows and ensure Mudah is discoverable in next-gen discovery platforms.
Drive Business Outcomes: Optimize SEO funnels to maximize seller leads and downstream conversions, embedding SEO as a growth engine tied directly to Mudah’s revenue impact.
Elevate Capability & Influence: Mentor SEO staff, embed best practices across product and engineering, and collaborate with regional peers to raise Group-wide SEO maturity and innovation.
Proven SEO Leadership at Scale: 7+ years of experience leading SEO for large-scale platforms (marketplaces, classifieds, or e-commerce), with a demonstrated ability to scale organic traffic to 100K+ daily clicks.
Category-Specific Expertise: Experience tailoring SEO strategies for verticals like Autos and Properties, balancing vertical nuances with overall platform growth.
Technical SEO Mastery: Deep expertise in structured data, crawl optimization, Core Web Vitals, JavaScript SEO, and indexation at scale.
Content & Keyword Strategy: Skilled in keyword research, content optimization, and intent modeling to align content with evolving user needs.
Growth & Business Impact: Track record of driving organic traffic and lead generation funnels that convert into measurable business outcomes.
Collaboration & Leadership: Strong cross-functional influence with product, engineering, and content teams, plus leadership and mentorship experience to elevate SEO capability across the organization.
Future-Forward Mindset: Awareness of AI/LLM trends and the curiosity to experiment with emerging discovery channels, ensuring Mudah captures next-generation referral traffic.
As SEO Lead – Mudah, you will own the organic search strategy for Malaysia’s largest marketplace, ensuring Mudah stays competitive as search undergoes fundamental shifts driven by AI, LLMs, and evolving user intent. This role is not just about execution — it is about future-proofing SEO as a growth engine, driving high-intent traffic that converts into seller leads, and embedding SEO best practices across product, engineering, and content teams.
You will also mentor internal stakeholders, raising Mudah’s SEO maturity, while collaborating closely with Carousell Group peers to ensure Mudah benefits from regional best practices and innovations.
