Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Systems Engineering Technical Manager 3. This position will be in Roy, UT, supporting the Sentinel Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Program.

What You’ll Get To Do:

The SDS Systems Engineering (SE) team is seeking a new team member to join the Training team in Roy, UT. Our team is tasked with characterizing, developing, and delivering training to support 1,200+ systems engineers within the SDS division. The training team identifies and characterizes the needs of our SEs and engages with the domain Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to create training proposals. Coordination with SDS Functional Home Room and the Business Unit leaders culminates with both SE and Program Management to obtain full program buy-in and funding authorization to execute training. Lead the team who delivers the training and capture the Return On Investment for both immediate and long-term reporting.

This highly visible leadership position requires extensive organization, program planning and communication skills. The selected candidate for this team will perform, but are not limited to, the following tasks:

• Soliciting, consolidating and analyzing data about the SDS SE team needs.

• Collaborate with technical SME’s about training characteristics and activities / products to satisfy those needs.

• Assemble proposals to develop training.

• Coordinate with Technical and Program Management to refine and obtain proposal approvals.

• Develop approved training materials.

• Assemble and coordinate training cohorts (classes of trainees).

• Deliver approved training to cohorts.

• Collect Return On Investment (ROI) metrics for training events.

• Report training results to Technical and Program Management.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline with 8 years of related experience, 6 years with Masters

• Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years

• Must have Special Access Program (SAP) approval.

• Experience in Systems Engineering on large-scale, complex systems.

• Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) or Work Package Lead (WPL) managing cost, schedule and performance of large government technical statements of work.

• Experience in milestone planning and execution to completion (e.g. Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, etc.).

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

• U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance.

• Higher level SAP approval commensurate with security clearance.

• Master's or Doctorate Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with 10 years engineering or other related experience.

• 3+ years in a training position.

• 3+ years’ experience with ICBM (MMIII and/or Sentinel) weapon systems.

• 3+ years’ formal management experience leading a team of engineers (10+ personnel), with demonstrated leadership of large teams (30+).

• 2+ years’ experience as a team lead or product lead.

• Experience in complex systems sell-off and delivery to customers.

• Familiarity with Northrop Grumman execution processes, procedures, tools, and metrics.

• Ability to manage customer relationships and build consensus with customer counterparts.

• Experience as an Engineering Leader in all phases of acquisition, design, integration, and execution.

• Experience working across multiple functional organizations (Engineering, Manufacturing, Global Supply Chain, Logistics).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the confidence and ability to brief segment, program, and customer leadership.

• Experience with Confluence, JIRA, Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS), Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)/Cameo, Siemens NX.

• Proven leader and problem solver with strong work ethics and excellent interpersonal skills required to work closely with teammates, stakeholders, and internal and external stakeholders.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations; rapid engagement in significantly diverse assignments, within a collaborative team setting across all levels of the organization.

Primary Level Salary Range: $166,700.00 - $250,100.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
