Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking to hire a Systems Engineer (Level 2 or Level 3) with mechanical engineering experience to join its team. This position is in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.
What you will get to do:
The qualified candidate will report to the PLT Mechanical Design Integration lead and is responsible for artifact development for all PLT interfaces.
Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:
- Development of full vehicle installation models
- Development of Interface Control Models
- Configuration management of Support Equipment
- Ownership and upkeep of the PLT drawing tree and modeling tree
- Interfacing with other IPTs to develop interface requirements and ConOps
- Support development of mass properties analysis and documentation

This position’s standard work schedule is 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This position may be hired at the System Engineer or Principal Systems Engineer levels depending upon applicant qualifications.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Systems Engineer (level 2): Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of experience with bachelor’s degree, or 0 years of experience with master’s degree
- Must be a US Citizen with an Active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years
- Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
- 1 year of experience with systems or mechanical design
- 1 year of experience using CAD software
- Principal Systems Engineer (level 3): Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience with bachelor’s degree, 3 years of experience with master’s degree, 1 year of experience with PhD
- Must be a US Citizen with an Active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years
- Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
- 3 years of experience with systems or mechanical design
- 3 years of experience using CAD software
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with Siemens CPLM
- Experience with “clean-sheet” new design.
- A current active US Government DoD Top Secret clearance.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills; strong interpersonal and analytic skills

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
