Northrop Grumman Strategic Deterrent Systems division is seeking a Senior Staff System Test Engineer to join our team of highly qualified and diverse individuals. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program. This position will be part of our Aerospace Vehicle Equipment (AVE) On Board Test Equipment (OBTE) team to plan and execute vehicle level integration, test and checkout activities supporting Sentinel, formerly Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD), program.
What you’ll get to do:
- Define test requirements and test objectives, using Systems Engineering principles
- Develop integration and test documentation (test plans, test procedures and test reports)
- Prepare for and execute Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs)
- Execute the integration, test, and assembly of the AVE in preparation for developmental flight testing
- Integrate hardware from sub-system teams, interface with other elements teams, and the system and segment level teams
- Develop and implement testing methods and test equipment
- Interface with software developers and systems engineers in support of integration and test activities
- Participate in technical exchange meetings, interfacing with customers (internal/external)
- Perform data analysis against requirements and interfaces for each software build or hardware component
- Compile data and define changes required in test equipment, test procedures, or new test requirements
- Maintain test equipment documentation and follow configuration management requirements
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Synthesizing customer contractual needs and requirements into element test solutions that acknowledges technical schedule and cost constraints
- Develop and direct preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for completing subsystems
- Coordinate integrated testing activities
- Serve as a technical lead and mentor to junior engineers on the On board Test Equipment Team
- Review and evaluate test requirements to ensure completeness of test program
- Perform technical analysis of complete systems and prepare comprehensive system level evaluations
- Overseeing supplier test activities in support or requirement verification and validation
Basic Qualifications:
- 14 Years with Bachelors in Science; 12 Years with Masters; 10 Years with PhD
- Active DoD Secret clearance updated within the last 5 years
- Proven innovation strengths and strategic value creation
- Demonstrated performance, people leadership and customer intimacy
- Strong understanding of entire product lifecycle, modeling and engineering best practices
- Strong communication skills including technical writing and verbal communication
- At least two years of demonstrated technical leadership over a team of engineers

- Knowledge of Systems Engineering principles, DOORS database, requirements decomposition and allocation
- Good organizational skills and ability to work with minimal direction

- Active DOD Top Secret Clearance
- Experience with Electronic Test Development
- Prior experience in instrumentation of structures for static, fatigue and damage tolerance analyses, or electrical component/RF equipment test
- Knowledge/experience with RCC 319/324
- Experience with ICBMs (MM, PK, Small Missile) or DOD programs
- Experience overseeing supplier execution of dynamic and thermal environmental testing
- Experience overseeing component and system qualification and verification testing

This position has a 9/80 standard work schedule. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Primary Level Salary Range: $151,400.00 - $227,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
