Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr Principal Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located at Roy, UT to support the Sentinel (GBSD) program in the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) Division. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure
Roles and Responsibilities
Responsible for one or more software development Scrum teams on the GBSD or other SDS programs. Our focus is on ensuring process execution and efficiencies in the development, testing, and release of the software deliverables.
Support individual scrum/sprint teams by attending meetings, creating Jira dashboard tools to help monitor progress and execution efficiency. Offer suggestions for improvement to the software leadership.
Understand process health, progress and stability metrics when required
Become fluent in the use of tools; Jira, Confluence, Jazz, DOORS or others as needed
Be a constructive advocate for Mission Assurance and relentlessly articulate our Value Proposition to our stakeholders
Ensure GBSD software is in compliance with industry guidelines and contractual requirements for development of military weapon systems. Maintain a keen focus on employee engagement, teaming and collaboration, process improvement, rework reduction, and continuous improvement.
Basic Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree with a minimum 8 years in Software Quality Assurance, Software Test, Software Engineering or related field; 6 years with Masters; or 4 years with PhD.
Requires an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
Requires experience developing and implementing Software Quality Assurance plans.
Requires experience developing and using metrics for process health and performance monitoring
Requires experience being a liaison between local personnel, suppliers, and customers
Requires experience in evaluation, tracing, and analysis of requirements
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline
Experience in Missile Systems/Sub-Systems design, construction, or sustainment
Experience in process monitoring, data collection, analysis, and metric reporting for a large program/supplier-base.
Experience in Peer Reviews and Code Reviews
Experience in software build testing, qualification, and Integration and Test
Experience prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines
Able to read and understand Software Code (C++, Java, Python)
Ability to understand and work with multiple enterprise-wide systems and software problem tracking tools (e.g., SAP, DOORs, Jira, Confluence, CAMEO)
Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology

This position’s standard work schedule is 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Primary Level Salary Range: $111,700.00 - $167,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
