Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal / Sr Principal Industrial Engineer Master Production Scheduling.  This position is in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.

What You’ll Get To Do:

This role will support the production operations to maintain the Master Production Schedule. The scheduler will assist in all capacities to maintain supply/demand balance relative to labor capacity, externally supplied material lead times, and ensure on-time delivery to the customer's need. Translate program demand plans into ERP system forecasts, release executable demand, and drive schedule fidelity to customer delivery. The preferred candidate will be an individual with a bias for action, strategic thinking, data analysis, problem-solving, exceptional customer focus, communications, and a sound foundation in Material Planning and Production Control practices. The qualified applicant will have a working knowledge and understanding of Industrial Engineering, capacity, and methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel. The candidate must have knowledge and experience of master production scheduling and material requirements planning, an understanding of the SAP MRP system, and how scheduling and capacity work within the system. General skills and expectations within the role include:

• Strong foundation in Industrial Engineering fundamentals. (Production Intervals, Cycle Times, Forecasting, Manufacturing Experience, Takt Time, Continuous Improvement)

• Experience in Creating and distributing Master Schedule products (Firing Order, Cycle Projections, Baseline, scenarios analysis, and projections)

• Proficient in the principles of capacity (efficiencies, standards, constraints, etc.)

• Knowledge of manufacturing flows and their interface with shop floor and Global Supply Chain.

• Develops cost/risk benefit summaries and recommendations for leadership.

• Experience with Project Management and manufacturing schedules Software tools.

• Understanding of schedule waterfall builds with setbacks to independent demands.

• Utilizes process improvement methodology (e.g., value stream mapping, employee engagement techniques, flow reduction, etc.)

• Experience with cost management (Earned Value, Milestone payments)

• Experience with data analysis and/or data mining

• Engage and collaborate with programs and functional organizations (from individual contributors to executive staff) to obtain, understand, and interpret manufacturing facilitation and scheduling requirements.

• Proven ability to combine material flow management expertise with outstanding information knowledge. Experience with the financial aspects of the business.

• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision. Seeking a critical role in developing and managing achievable production schedules for an entire factory servicing multiple businesses.

• Ability to document, track, and monitor problems to ensure a timely resolution.

• Possess strong organizational, planning, and decision-making skills and the ability to work as a team member and with other members from different technical backgrounds.

• Effective verbal and written communications skills.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Job Qualifications:

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

• Principal Industrial Engineer - Master Production Scheduling: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology / Industrial Engineering or related Technical field; or Master's degree with 3 years of experience; or PhD with 1 years of experience.

• Sr. Principal Industrial Engineer - Master Production Scheduling: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology / Industrial Engineering or related Technical field; or Master's degree with 6 years of experience; or PhD with 4 years of experience.

Required for Both Levels:

• Experience and understanding of MPS (Master Production Schedule) and scheduling principles.

• Previous planning experience and understanding of MRP logic

• Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain U.S. Government DoD Interim Secret Security Clearance prior to start and Secret Clearance after starting within a reasonable period as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

• Ability to receive Special Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period as determined by the company to meet its business needs

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

•Bachelor's degree in industrial technology / industrial engineering or related technical field is preferred

•Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope

•Experience in Supply Chain Management APICS CPIM certification a plus Supply Chain Management experience in a DoD environment is preferred

•Experience in industrial engineering

•Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Excel, Project, and PowerPoint

•Knowledge of SAP MRP, AutoCad, and discrete simulation tools and concepts

•ICBM / Aerospace Systems Industry Experience

•SAP Certificate and Project Management Certificates are a plus

Primary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $111,700.00 - $167,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
