Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager 2. This position will be locatd in Roy, UT.

What You’ll Get to Do:
Collaborate with stakeholders to decompose technical requirements, develop complete and verifiable requirements, and conduct trade studies
Generate and update specifications as part of a Systems Engineering framework for the purpose of releasing to suppliers and supporting the procurement process
Develop design and analysis artifacts to support design reviews, customer deliverables, and hardware procurement workflows
Review and provide comments on supplier-submitted drawings and contractual deliveries
Ensure team members have the required training, tools, and access to perform design engineering responsibilities.
Provide support for Earned Value Management System (EVMS). Support the development and track key performance cost and schedule metrics.
Develop and review engineering packages for product lifecycle management release.
Engaging the functional team with timely flow-down of information and fostering robust collaboration within the team.
Collaborating with project team leads, to support project planning and execution activities, labor and material cost estimation, staffing, design process execution, etc.
Developing and maintaining a working knowledge of applicable design processes, guidelines, policies, and best practices, and ensuring that all functional team members are aware of and are compliant with these items.
Driving on-time delivery of work products to support the design timelines of the organization.
Ensuring schedules and program plans are credible, substantiated by quantitative data, and bound by risks and opportunities.
Providing regular briefings, reports, and other communications to executive leadership.
This role is contingent upon contract award.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) disciplines from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience, or a Master’s Degree in a related discipline and 6 years of relevant experience
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
5+ years of experience in the different phases of the electro/mechanical engineering lifecycle: requirement, architecture, concepts, critical design, drawing development, test, vendor/build follow and production support
Experience with CAD modeling standards, techniques, and tool
Experience with Product Lifecycle Management tools
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Demonstrated success in functional management, project management, or similar technical leadership role.
1+ years' experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule
Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) & Control Account Management (CAM) techniques, and responsibilities.
Experience with Microsoft Project, Siemens Teamcenter, and Siemens NX
Proficient with GD&T and ASME Y14.5-2009
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in STEM with 8 years related experience or Master's with 6 years
