Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Manager Project Management 2. This position is in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.

Successful candidate will join the PE&O team supporting day to day operation of the Sentinel program. This role requires a pro-active individual willing to work in fast-paced and dynamic environment. A good team focus and willingness to multi-task is important in this role.

In this position, as the PE&O Manager of Project Management, you will support an experienced and diverse team responsible for Program Increment planning, Cost and schedule management, employee SAP access, external partner onboarding, meeting coordination, and defining processes and procedures. As this work spans across a diverse set of stakeholders, this leader will be expected to collaborate effectively and partner across organizations – Business Units, Communications, Site Operations, and Program Leadership – to ensure day to day functions of the organization execute.

Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provides horizontal integration across program business units.

  • Act as the assignment manager for the PE&O operations organization.

  • Serve as liaison with staff, executives, and senior leaders regarding project updates, and planning.

  • Oversee daily operations in collaboration with senior leaders and directorates, and perform administrative tasks such as managing calendars, generating correspondence, maintaining electronic files, planning, and coordinating meetings, and scheduling facilities.

  • Lead employee SAP access for Executive Leadership, Program Management Office, and Office of Chief Engineers.

  • Develop and build on relationships with all employees for increased efficiency and responsiveness of existing operations and help define new operational strategies by working with senior leaders and other executives on special projects.

  • Serve as a subject-matter expert, handling inquiries, developing action plans, and assisting with preparation and dissemination of communications.

  • Improve current processes and optimize organizational procedures for efficiency and productivity.

  • Develop and deliver high level briefings to Program Leadership and/or customer.

  • Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget, and make accurate decisions and recommendations to prevent serious delays, excess time, additional resources, and increased costs.

  • Provide solutions to complex problems that are consistent with the organization’s objectives.

  • Identify opportunities for change and champion needed changes in the organization.

  • Navigate ambiguity and develop a systemic approach and strategy to address and solve problems.

  • Build relationships and effectively listen and communicate to influence and ensure accountability across a network of stakeholders.

  • Coordinating with the PE&O Division Homeroom, for identifying needs and coordination on task closure (Agile).

  • Preparing charts, briefings and metrics as needed to provide the Program with visualization material necessary to understand the health of the organization.

  • Acting with a sense of urgency and accountability; taking ownership of tasks and strategic direction.

  • Updating project database information with multiple input sources.

  • Coordination of SharePoint database system changes with admins and developer.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of related experience; Master's degree and 6 years of related experience or an additional 4 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.

  • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need

  • Demonstrated track record/ experience in project management/ execution and closeout

  • Firm understanding and application of Earned Value Management System (EVMS)

  • Executive presence and comfort in communications at that level

  • Experience building strong customer relationships.

  • Firm understanding and application of Active Risk Management portfolios >$50M factored risk

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • At least 6 year of experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule

  • 6 years of experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) principles and application or as a Cost Account Manager (CAM)

  • 2 years of ICBM experience

  • Functional and/or Assignment manager experience

  • Program Management Experience

  • Supplier Management experience

  • Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated ability in prioritizing multiple tasks

  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization and with outside organizations

  • Experience managing people

Primary Level Salary Range: $115,000.00 - $172,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
