ABOUT THIS ROLE

As a Sensor Integration Engineer II, you'll own the configuration, commissioning, and integration of the advanced camera and sensor systems at the heart of LVT's hardware portfolio. You'll work hands-on across diverse sensor types—PTZ cameras, radar, thermal detection, and field-of-view tuning—getting units field-ready and dialing in performance across firmware revisions and deployment conditions. Your work directly shapes the customer experience and defines how LVT scales sensor integration across manufacturing and deployment.

LVT is a flexible-first company, but this is an in-office role based in our American Fork, Utah facility, where you'll collaborate hands-on with Hardware Engineering and Product Engineering.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Own the end-to-end setup, configuration, and integration of camera and sensor systems—including PTZ, thermal, and radar—across LVT's hardware platforms.
  • Commission and tune cameras for real-world deployment, dialing in field of view, image quality, detection range, and night performance.
  • Troubleshoot integration issues across hardware, firmware, and network layers, isolating root cause and driving fixes with engineering.
  • Configure and integrate sensors with upstream software and analytics pipelines, ensuring clean handoff from hardware to platform.
  • Mentor junior technicians on camera configuration, commissioning workflows, and technical problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Product, Operations) to move products through development and into production, managing integration timelines and resolving sensor-level blockers.
  • Drive continuous improvement in configuration tooling and integration workflows, reducing setup time and increasing consistency across units.
  • Maintain sensor configuration databases and integration records that support long-term product evolution and institutional knowledge.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • Camera Setup & Integration: Deep hands-on experience setting up, configuring, and commissioning IP camera systems—ideally as an integrator deploying and tuning cameras on customer sites.
  • Sensor Systems Depth: Working knowledge of physical security sensor technologies—PTZ, thermal, radar—and the network, firmware, and configuration layers that make them perform.
  • Networking & Firmware Fluency: Comfortable working across IP networking, firmware updates, and device-level configuration to get systems talking to each other correctly.
  • Troubleshooting & Root Cause: Strong system-level troubleshooting instincts across hardware, firmware, and network layers, with a disciplined approach to isolating and documenting failures.
  • Documentation & Process Ownership: Track record of creating clear, usable configuration guides and integration documentation that scale across teams.
  • Technical Leadership: Ability to mentor teammates, establish best practices, and drive adoption of standardized configuration and integration processes.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: Comfort working through ambiguity, prototyping novel integration approaches, and iterating rapidly when field conditions don't match the lab.
  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or 5+ years of hands-on experience in security system integration or camera commissioning, with equivalent technical depth.

BENEFITS

We believe you do your best work when your whole life is supported. We invest in our crew’s health, families, and financial futures with a benefits package designed to support you inside and outside the office. Full-time benefits include, but not limited to: Comprehensive health, dental and vision coverage, retirement benefits (401k match up to 4%), and flexible PTO.
