Job Description/Preferred Qualifications
Responsibilities:
Design of mechanical structures, modules, and assemblies to support advanced laser and optics system.
Responsible for the complete design and development process, including:
Driving mechanical design requirements specification.
Feasibility studies, conceptual and detailed mechanical design, tolerance stack-up analysis, detailed drawings.
Conducting analysis in material properties and behavior, structural, thermal, flow.
Hold design reviews throughout design process.
Prototype assembly, testing and troubleshooting.
Strong team collaboration with research scientists, optics engineers, laser systems engineers and laser users to ensure flawless integration and test at the subsystem and system level.
Good communication with suppliers to ensure all critical design requirements are well controlled and achieved.
Mechanical innovative research activities to enable new technologies in precision engineering.
Design challenges may include:
Design for high precision: knowledge in optics engineering. Training will be provided.
Design for robustness: vibration control and thermal management
Design for cleanliness: photo contamination control, purge flow analysis. A background knowledge in material properties is desirable.
Requirements:
Doctorate (Academic) in mechanical engineering, with at least 3 years of experience.
Solid understanding in mechanical engineering fundamentals, including design principles, machine elements, materials, and fabrication methods.
Hands-on R&D experience in mechanical precision design. Efficiency in using Creo/Solidworks.
strong analytical mindset in complex problem-solving, demonstrated capabilities in delivering solutions through detail analysis.
Learning mindset towards new technology and skill sets. Passion in mechanical cutting-edge technology in-depth innovation.
Great team player.
Minimum Qualifications
Doctorate (Academic) in mechanical engineering, with at least 3 years of experience.
