- A B.E professional degree qualifications in an Electronics & Communication or Electronics & Instrumentation with gained industrial experience on 4 -5 years in the terminal automation system domain, which shall be based on Aveva System Platform (ASP) or Foxboro Control Software (FCS).
The main job is to maintain the existing TAS at one of the customer locations as a resident engineer.
Thus, the choosing Engineer shall have a broader range of skills and knowledge as follows:- An Application Engineer is responsible for developing, and implementing solutions that control dynamic systems on ASP or FCS.
- Knowledge and experience in smart control technologies and systems for control logics creation, modification, addition using Archestra and CCS application. Also, dept experience in HMI and SCADA software engineering, configuration, register mapping, programming is needed using “Aveva System platform - InTouch” and Aveva Historian, Foxboro Control software.
- Dept Knowledge in various device integration between ASP/FCS and 3rd party field controller devices or transmitters or control system through industrial standard MODBUS Gateway on serial RS485 or TCP/IP communication or OPC communication.
- Knowledge of System installations, Creating Virtual Machines, network services and its configuration – this includes LAN, WLAN, VPN, and more.
- Analyzing customer requirements by pursuing customer provided P&ID, layouts, IO lists, plans, schedules etc.
- Proficient in engineering, commissioning, and testing of devices, control logics (Simplex, Closed Loop) and tailored applications like: Application workstations, electronic preset controller, Remote I/O module, Historian, etc.
- Dept in preparation of engineering documents using Microsoft Office / MS Visio, such as functional design specification (FDS), system architectures, schematics, commissioning procedure, loop diagram, etc.
- Moderate experience in handling of customer, consultant & vendor for responding the technical queries and clarifications.
- Focusing on close monitoring of system performance, customers’ expectation vs. product delivery, and product improvement.
- Strong mathematical and problem-solving abilities – as graphical modelling and simulations are a core part this role.
- Good communication – this is especially important.
In summary, to be a very good application engineer must enjoy making things work as efficiently as possible and in a way that delivers on objectives.
