We are looking for a talented Back End Web developer for a
major website redesign build. The goal for the project is to migrate a large-
scale multisite WordPress website to Odoo.com A strong understanding of
WordPress’s specific web development capabilities and tools is required.
This Web developer should be able to lead and provide any
suggestions related to any functional issues prior to and during the
development phase working with Brand, Marketing, and
IT(Development) teams.
Responsabilities
- Design and develop a custom WordPress plugin specifically built for facilitating a seamless migration from WordPress to Odoo
- The goal for this plugin is to move at least 80% (the more the better) of the WordPress content to reduce manual migration work later on
- Collaborate with Odoo developers to understand the requirements for the migration and integration, ensuring the plugin supports the transfer of data between WordPress and Odoo efficiently.
- Work with both the WordPress database and Odoo database to ensure proper mapping, migration, and integrity of data across both platforms.
- Assist in developing processes for smooth migration of content, digital media, templates, and other critical data from WordPress to Odoo while ensuring data accuracy.
- Develop and integrate the necessary software to connect WordPress with Odoo for real-time data synchronization during the migration process.
- Work closely with other developers, project managers, and the Odoo migration team to ensure project milestones are met and technical challenges are addressed.
Must have for the role
- Expert SQL knowledge and database experience necessary (The more experience the better!)
- Deep knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JSON and how these technologies interact within the WordPress ecosystem.
- Experience with WordPress REST API and XML-RPC for integrating with external systems (like Odoo).
- Knowledge of Python and PostgreSQL.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with other teams, stakeholders, and clients effectively.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Odoo's architecture and API for facilitating the integration process, including understanding Odoo modules and data structure.
- Strong understanding of database architecture and migration strategies for large-scale systems.
- Knowledge of version control (e.g., Git) for collaborative development.
