Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Group Manager, Creative, and working closely with the Creative Director, Digital & Connected Experiences, the Senior Writer, will lead and/or support the writing and creative concepting for various projects and initiatives across Brand and Marketing communications. This individual must have top-notch writing, concepting, and editing skills, including knowledge of proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar. They must also have a strong portfolio showing multi-channel campaigns. Knowledge of video concepts and production is necessary, as is experience across all digital media, with a special emphasis on social. Extensive subject matter expertise in social is required. You should have worked in an agency that values the power of superior creative. Big brand experience, while not necessary, is a plus. You must have strong presentation skills with the ability to sell innovative creative to clients.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrated experience in concepting, writing and editing breakthrough creative for social media, digital, print, and video.
  • Concept and write innovative ideas that deliver and adhere to the brand vision and brand standards while ensuring consistency.
  • Bring ideas and creative to life across a wide scope of unique projects through innovation and collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain trusted partnerships with peers, internal business teams and external agencies.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills; thrives in fast-paced environments and meets tight deadlines.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of working as a creative writer with an additional 2 years of experience as a Senior Writer at an agency (in-house or external).
  • Proven track record as a Writer, with a portfolio filled with examples of how their contributions assisted in the development of breakthrough creative in digital, social, print and video production.
  • Must have top-notch writing and editing skills, including knowledge of proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar.
  • Must be well-organized, able to understand a marketing brief and can present ideas and develop strategies.
  • Strong team player with enthusiasm, positive attitude, and the willingness to do what it takes to get the job done, which may include extended hours when necessary to meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong written, verbal, conceptual, and presentation skills
  • Experience working in creative marketing agencies or marketing organizations with a focus in health care
  • Familiarity with MRM solutions a plus
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Technical skills include the Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office and proficient on a Mac

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Journalism, English, Creative Writing, Advertising/Communications, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$66,330.00 - $145,860.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
