Job Overview:
As a Senior Workday Engineer, you will assist our delivery team in evolving our Workday financial and human capital enterprise management tools and resources. Product is delivered through configuring standard Workday functionality as well as developing custom end-to-end solutions in a fast-paced and iterative process. Our team’s services assist our enterprise to effectively leverage Workday in streamlining day-to-day business operations, accelerating strategic planning, and maintaining the integrity and security of corporate data.
Job Responsibilities:
- Accountable for any piece or the entirety of the software delivery lifecycle, including: requirements, design, implementation, testing, release, and hypercare.
- Delivering robust solutioning within ERP software and providing enterprise grade integrations with other company systems.
- Maintaining the business perspective in understanding and affecting how systems are implemented to satisfy user goals.
- Developing systems that adhere to a high standard of quality where our team’s successful delivery is a direct result of our own testing diligence.
- Keeping informed of ecosystem technical advances, and capable of proposing changes based on alternative technology.
- Participating on multiple projects at the same time, stabilizing needs and deadlines.
- Providing technical guidance and mentorship to other team members.
Job Requirements:
- 8+ years of software engineering experience.
- 5+ years of Workday integration tools experience (Studio, RaaS, WQL, EIB, Core Connectors, BIRT).
- Functional knowledge in Workday Financials with Accounts Receivable (banking & settlement, customer accounts, contracts), Accounts Payable (suppliers, procurement), and General Ledger.
- Expertise in Workday Foundation Data Model, including: Ledger Accounts, Organizations, and Worktags.
- Enterprise experience with Workday Financials APIs to deliver inbound/outbound web service integrations (SOAP, REST) and related development tools (SOAP UI, Postman, etc.)
- Accomplished in developing robust custom reports, calculated fields, and discovery boards.
- Solid understanding of the Workday business process framework.
- Adept in gathering requirements from users and proposing alternative designs.
- Practiced in creating architecture data flow diagrams, technical specifications, and support documentation.
- Versed in executing unit testing, system testing, and end-to-end testing.
- Skilled in troubleshooting and debugging integration issues and providing root cause analysis.
- Proficient in bi-annual system upgrades, including the regression testing of existing functionality and assessment with implementation of new features.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
- Functional knowledge in Workday Core HCM with benefits, absence, payroll, compensation, time-tracking, talent, and recruiting.
- Workday authentication security policy (keys / certs, OAuth 2.0, API Clients for integrations).
- Workday ISUs/ISSGs, domain security policies, data privacy, and compliance requirements.
- Service Oriented Architectures, RESTful web service development, and scalable enterprise designs.
- ETL tools and processing.
- RDBMS schema design and development.
- Workday Certified.
- Master’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
