About the opportunity
Join QIAGEN Digital Insights and help shape the next generation of software solutions supporting healthcare and life science innovation. In this role, you will develop sophisticated Angular applications that enable researchers and clinicians to analyse, interpret, and interact with complex genomic data. Working within an international team, you will influence technical direction, contribute to architectural decisions, and help establish best practices as we continue expanding our software engineering presence in Cluj.
Your tasks include
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable front-end applications using Angular and TypeScript.
- Build intuitive user experiences for complex analytical workflows and data-intensive applications.
- Create and enhance reusable UI components, design patterns, and front-end frameworks.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, software engineers, and data specialists to deliver impactful solutions.
- Optimise application performance for large datasets, high-volume visualisations, and real-time interactions.
- Drive front-end architecture decisions, code quality standards, and development best practices.
- Mentor team members through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.
Your profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Several years of professional experience developing modern web applications, including at least 5 years working with Angular and TypeScript.
- Strong expertise in JavaScript (ES6+), component-based architectures, and modern front-end development practices.
- Experience working with state management solutions such as NgRx, RxJS, Signals, or comparable technologies.
- Proven experience building complex, data-driven user interfaces, dashboards, or visualization platforms.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs and web integration patterns; familiarity with GraphQL is an advantage.
- Experience with software testing, performance optimization, Git-based development workflows, and code review processes.
- Availability to work onsite in our office in Cluj-Napoca for 3 days per week
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to healthcare, diagnostics, bioinformatics, scientific software, or regulated environments.
- Experience with data visualization libraries such as D3.js or similar frameworks.
- Familiarity with design systems and modern front-end tooling including Angular CLI, Vite, or Webpack.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
- Previous experience collaborating within distributed international development teams.
