Hearst Television (HTV) seeks a visionary designer with exceptional Vizrt and 3D design and organizational expertise to lead and inspire within our internal design group as Senior Vizrt News Designer.
Working closely with HTV’s Design Manager and Production Manager, this position is responsible for creating and implementing both group-wide news template and show packaging solutions and customized approaches that address the unique needs of our TV station markets. The role also involves mentoring a team of designers to integrate these solutions and assets into impactful news, marketing, sales, and digital designs across our 35 local stations and two local radio stations. This in-person position reports to the HTV Design office located in Winter Park, FL.
Job Responsibilities
- Create on-air Vizrt news template designs for the station group
- Collaborate on the rollout of templates and new features for on-air storytelling
- Assist in organizing and cataloging station branded assets used across multiple platforms
- Contribute to finding patterns supporting standardized news templates
- Create show packaging for individual stations and the station group
Experience Requirements
- Designing, evolving, and maintaining an on-air news graphics package
- Success in designing and animating on-air news templates and motion graphics, series packaging, or streaming content, enhancing audience engagement and brand recognition
- Experience working in collaborative environments, contributing to efficient workflows and team success
- Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite and experience with 3D software as well as Viz Artist and C4D
Qualification Requirements
- Expertise in visualization, conceptualization, motion design, layout, typography, color theory, photography, and both 2D and 3D animation
- A portfolio showcasing problem-solving expertise and the application of current design trends to deliver positive results
- Strong skills in articulating design rationale and process to creative teams and editorial management
- Willing mentor with a collaborative approach to drive team growth and performance
- Aspiring leader who has shown ability to successfully deliver team projects by collaborating and motivating colleagues and aligning with client goals
- A background or understanding of scripting and code a plus
- Related military experience will be considered
