Overall Responsibilities:
The Junior Associate - Payments will play a crucial role in supporting batch operations and resolving issues related to V+ batches. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work shifts, as well as familiarity with mainframe technologies. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth batch processing and collaborate with various teams to address critical activities efficiently.
Software Requirements:
- Proficient in Mainframe technologies (COBOL, JCL, CICS, MVS, SORT, Eztrieve).
- Knowledge of scheduling tools (Control M, CA7, TWS, Job-Track).
- Experience with incident management tools (e.g., ServiceNow).
Category-wise Technical Skills:
Mainframe Operations:
- JCL (Job Control Language)
- CICS (Customer Information Control System)
- COBOL programming
Batch Processing:
- Understanding of V+ Batch flow and after-hours processing.
- Ability to resolve Batch Abends in V+ batches.
Scheduling and Monitoring:
- Experience with scheduling tools (Control M preferred).
- Monitoring of Production and UAT Batches.
Incident Management:
- Ability to handle priority and crisis calls.
- Familiarity with incident management processes.
File Handling:
- Knowledge of file transmissions and VSAM.
- Proficiency in debugging basic issues related to job abends.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Mainframe Operations.
- Prior experience in production support is preferred.
Day-to-Day Activities:
- Resolve batch abends in V+ batches, focusing on JCL, application, and CICS issues.
- Monitor and perform operations as requested by the support team for Production and UAT Batches.
- Collaborate with multiple teams during critical activities, processing requests promptly.
- Understand application team requests and execute activities diligently.
- Work independently post-knowledge transition and escalate unresolved issues as needed.
- Provide solutions and debug basic issues when jobs abend or other issues occur.
- Participate in CHG/Dress Rehearsal activities and adhere to instructions from other teams regarding job updates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Mainframe Operations.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
- Ability to work comfortably in shifts (morning, evening, and night).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective collaboration skills during critical activities.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile Scrum, or Agile Kanban.
- Prior production support experience is advantageous.
