As a Senior Vintage Cellar Hand, you’ll be leading a small team during our Vintage 27 season, starting in late January 2027 for site-specific training prior to the arrival of Vintage staff arriving in early March.

  • Physical work including machinery operation
  • Leading small teams of Cellar Hand staff
  • Taking part in our daily production meetings
  • Approx. 8-12 hour days, 6 days a week (plenty of earning potential!)
  • Be part of a team all working towards a common goal to produce incredible wine.

In the supervisory role, you’ll work in an area of our Winery during Vintage, taking part in our daily production meetings at the start or end of shift. You’ll work closely with the Production Leader and Shift Supervisors prior to and during Vintage.

This is a great opportunity for experienced Cellar Hands to develop their winemaking and management skills and further their career.

Your Grape Qualities

We are seeking both entry level and experienced Cellar Hands to join our Kim Crawford Winery for Vintage! 

  • Minimum of 3 seasons of previous vintage experience in the last 6 years working in a medium to large sized winery.
  • Experience leading a small team or working as a supervisor (preferred but not essential)
  • A sound understanding of the process flow of grapes to wine in a medium to large sized winery
  • Specialist knowledge in operating the following equipment is desirable: continuous flotation pools, high solids filters, grape presses or yeast rehydrators.
  • A team player with high levels of motivation and a can-do attitude
  • A reasonable level of fitness
  • Health and safety conscious
  • Comfortable with shift work
