Purpose:

• Execute Technical Leader fundamentals per NAB Policies and foster a continuous learning culture.
• Hands-on build and delivery of production-grade solutions, turning ambiguous problems into working outcomes.
• Provide hands-on technical direction and drive innovative, practical solutions for NAB.
• Partner with engineering scrum teams to plan, build, deliver, and support customer-facing features.

Essential capabilities:

• Strong, active hands-on delivery of end-to-end technology solutions with a customer-centric focus
• Proven track record of designing, building, debugging, and shipping features in production using modern tools, frameworks, and design patterns
• Deep hands-on expertise in the Microsoft stack: .NET, ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server, PowerShell, HTML, JavaScript, React; plus Jenkins, Octopus Deploy, and preferably Java
• Working knowledge of high- and low-level design, technical specs, and architecture diagrams applied to real builds
• Strong proficiency with AI-powered development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) and the ability to drive team adoption, establish best practices, and improve engineering efficiency through effective AI utilization.
• Strong at managing cross-team dependencies and problem-solving with data analytics
• Technical leadership and mentoring through hands-on, code-level guidance
• Strong focus on quality, auditability, and clear communication

Experience:

• 12+ years in technology and hands-on application development
• Extensive hands-on engineering on scalable, high-performance systems (7+ years applying design principles)
• Proven team leadership and technical mentoring
• Strong hands-on .NET ecosystem, React and monitoring/logging expertise
• Hands-on platform automation (DB Management, AWS, Jenkins, GitHub)
• Practical cloud experience (Azure and/or AWS)
• Hands-on microservices architecture and .NET modernization
• Agile delivery using Rally, JIRA, and ServiceNow

Nice to have: 

Banking/business lending domain; Java modernization experience

Key Accountabilities:

• Design, build and ship production-grade solutions hands-on, driving adoption of modern technologies, tools, and engineering best practices
• Lead from the front technically—actively coding, reviewing, and guiding critical implementation decisions (design and architecture reviews a strong plus)
• Own end-to-end delivery quality, including code quality, testing, and hands-on troubleshooting; contribute to solution and architecture design
• Lead, coach, and mentor teams through hands-on, code-level guidance to lift technical capability and delivery effectiveness
• Champion a CI/CD mindset and drive the associated cultural change across the organization
• Strengthen adoption of software delivery tools, DevOps, and continuous delivery through hands-on collaboration across teams
• Develop, implement, and support software delivery solutions aligned to the technology roadmap
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, continuously growing hands-on expertise
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company standards, and internal policies
• Keep training records current and follow health, safety, and operating procedures
