The Senior Vice President, Media Strategy defines and executes the PGA TOUR’s long-term media distribution strategy, with a primary focus on domestic rights.
In conjunction with senior executives, this role leads the TOUR’s approach to rights packaging, deal structuring and negotiation of distribution agreements. Responsible for shaping how PGA TOUR rights are valued, positioned and brought to market to maximize reach, revenue, and long-term enterprise value.
This role also ensures that the PGA TOUR’s entire media and commercial strategy is accounted for through such agreements. Working across the PGA TOUR enterprise to align media strategy, production capabilities, sponsorship priorities and commercial objectives.
This role partners across business functions and alongside executive leadership to ensure distribution agreements are strategically aligned, commercially optimized and effectively operated.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in media rights, distribution strategy, corporate development or related leadership roles within sports, media or entertainment
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • Proven track record negotiating complex, high-value media  distribution agreements
  • Deep understanding of content distribution, linear and streaming economics, rights valuation, and evolving media business models
  • Experience working with major media companies, broadcast partners and distribution platforms
  • Strong financial and strategic acumen, including valuation modeling and deal structuring
  • Executive presence with the ability to lead high-stakes negotiations and influence senior stakeholders
  • Ability to lead and build a high-performing team

Responsibilities

  • Lead and define the strategic direction for distribution of PGA TOUR live competition and related programming across domestic media platforms
  • Evolve and optimize the TOUR’s rights portfolio strategy, including packaging, windowing, exclusivity structures and partner mix
  • In partnership with senior executives, lead the structuring, negotiation and execution of PGA TOUR’s media distribution agreements
  • Shape how live programming inventory is valued, positioned and brought to market
  • Develop deal frameworks that align distribution strategy, sponsorship integration and long-term commercial growth
  • Partner with Corporate Partnerships leadership to align sponsorship strategy with media strategy
  • Assess market trends, competitive benchmarks and partner strategies to inform media rights positioning and long-term distribution strategy
  • Partner closely with PGA TOUR Studios and Broadcasting teams  to align programming, scheduling, production capabilities and delivery requirements tied to distribution agreements
  • Oversee the TOUR’s Media Business Development team with focus on:
    • Driving audience & financial growth outside of core media rights deals
    • Creating new IP and initiatives to support the TOUR’s commercial business and audience development objectives
    • Maximizing leverage in the next go-to-market rights cycle
  • Coordinate with other internal business development teams to support and drive the broader PGA TOUR  strategy

Skills Required
