Senior Vice President, Global FP&A – Denver, Colorado

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Vice President, Finance, Planning and Analysis, serves as a strategic business partner responsible for driving financial planning, analysis, and decision support across the company. This executive will lead a team of 100+ global finance professionals, supporting strategic finance, corporate functions, regions and products. As a key leader of the finance team, the SVP FP&A collaborates closely with senior management, business units, and functional leaders to optimize financial performance, enhance forecasting accuracy, and drive informed business decisions.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the FP&A team, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to deadlines.
- In collaboration with the CFO and Executive Team, develop and execute the company’s financial strategy, aligning it with overall business objectives.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and long-range planning.
- Provide strategic insights to senior leadership on financial trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Provide financial modeling to drive an understanding of the short and long-term financial (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow) implications for significant business decisions and/or investments.
- Oversee the preparation of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in the FP&A function, leveraging technology, automation, and data analytics.
- Benchmark and evaluate the company's performance against industry peers and competitors.
- Analyze financial performance, variances, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Lead and present the recurring forecasting process, driving insights into forward-looking performance, including alternate scenarios and contingency plans. Strong focus on predictable results and strong cash flow generation.
- Collaborate with business partners to evaluate investment decisions, capital allocation, and resource allocation.
- Create a culture of FP&A excellence where the function is viewed as a strategic partner on financial matters, providing guidance and assistance to all functional groups as needed.
- Build cross-functional relationships and serve as a thought partner across all regions and business functions.
- Lead, develop and inspire a high performing team.
- Influence decision-making through data-driven insights and recommendations.
- Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and economic factors that impact financial performance.
- Assess the financial impact of strategic initiatives and M&A activities. Supports all acquisition activity, including due diligence and post-merger integration.
Role Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, or related field. CPA/CFA a plus. Master’s degree in accounting or MBA strongly preferred
- A minimum of 20 years of progressive experience in finance, including 5+ years in a senior corporate finance leadership role
- Proven success leading global FP&A and strategic planning.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with proven experience in cultivating cross-collaborative working relationships across an organization and ability to influence at all levels
- Strategic mindset and a track record of driving financial performance
- Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize and interpret large amounts of data
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information to senior management and key stakeholders
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other financial software and tools
- Strategic mindset, with the ability to think creatively and proactively
- Detail-oriented, organized, and efficient, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Collaborative, team-oriented, and customer-focused, with the ability to build strong relationships across the organization
