Job Description

Senior Vice President - Managing Director, Client Relationship Management

The Position:

The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Japan wealth business, including the execution of all sales, marketing and IR-related activities relating to both public market and private market products to Wealth Management intermediaries (securities firms and banks). Products include Brookfield’s registered and publicly traded funds, evergreen open ended funds, and private close ended funds. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the business in Japan with an established team of sales, sales support and marketing resources.

The candidate’s performance will be measured by his/her ability to initiate new investor relationships, intermediary product placement and strengthening existing relationships for the firm that ultimately lead to new investment allocations in the relevant coverage markets. The candidate will be responsible for achieving fundraising goals of the firm. The candidate will also be responsible for contributing to the growth and development of the Brookfield Oaktree Wealth Solutions business more broadly across the Asia Pacific region.

Responsibilities:

Capital Raising & Marketing Strategy:

  • Develop and execute a sales strategy consistent with the regional sales goals for BOWS in Japan, through:

- Initiating new relationships with manager research teams who allocate or will soon allocate to evergreen and private funds that invest in strategies consistent with the Firm’s platforms.

- Existing investors - manage re-ups over an extended period of time and cross-sell strategically to varying Firm investors as appropriate.

  • Contribute to the marketing strategy and brand building initiatives of the Firm within private wealth investor community and assisting in the organization of events.

  • Navigate multi-faceted due diligence and negotiation processes.

Investor Relations:

  • Respond to investors’ needs and provide insights and perspective on the market broadly and the asset classes specifically.

  • Establish credibility as an informed specialist and relationship manager for each of the Firm’s investment opportunities.

  • Manage investor relationships throughout the extended lifecycle of the relationship by providing exceptional client service.

Product Development & Market Intelligence:

  • Contribute to the marketing strategy and positioning of both the specific Funds and overall Firm.

  • Offer input and market intelligence relating and assist in new product development and strategic planning for BOWS-focused initiatives in the region.

  • Provide a consistent on-the-ground source of market intelligence on investors, products and competitors as this increases the team’s ability to efficiently coordinate messaging and marketing of the Firm and its products.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Minimum of 15+ years of experience in wholesale distribution with a demonstrable track

  • A successful wealth fundraising track record within region for alternative assets and/or real assets and the clear ability and credibility to acquire new investors and close business effectively.

  • An organized and effective personal and professional style, with well-developed communication and presentation skills.

  • An understanding of the current fundraising market, including knowledge of terms, current Limited Partner concerns and competitors in the market.

  • A track record of personal success.

  • Demonstrated drive, self motivation, determination and energy.

  • A strong team orientation and commitment to the partnership.

  • Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Economics, Finance, or related field

  • Additional credentials preferred (CIMA, CAIA, CFA, MBA. etc.)

  • Local language in addition to strong command of the English language

  • Periodically
