The Business & Market Insights team is focused on creating products, platforms, and consulting services that build on our rich payments data in the areas of Analytics, Business Experimentation, Insights, and Payment Consulting & Innovation. We are seeking a Regional Business & Market Insights (B&MI) Lead for Asia-Pacific to provide regional oversight for B&MI offerings, including Operational Insights, Economics and Location Solutions, Advanced Analytics, Trends and Engines, and Payments Consulting.
The B&MI lead for AP will represent the product line in the region and provide subject matter expertise and sales support to drive customer value and business growth for both MA and our customers. They are responsible for the go-to market strategy to enable localized relevance, with a particular emphasis on the growth of consulting services – both embedded in Mastercard offerings and standalone, diversification of distribution channels, understanding customer and market needs for product evolution and innovation, as well as the competitive landscape for revenue attainment. They will work closely with the Global Product team to ensure local relevance and competitive advantage in the region. Located in Singapore the role reports directly into the Regional Services Lead and dual into the Global head Business & Market Insights.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and grow the Business & Market Insights business across the region.
• Manage a regional product line generating in excess of $350M with a focus on achieving sustained revenue growth, optimization and diversification of distribution, initiatives that drive client value, and managing pricing models, aligned to global framework
• Expand and grow consulting services in the region via embedding in existing Mastercard products and standalone sales efforts
• Understand the competitive landscape, size markets/segments/flows to identify new product opportunity spaces to differentiate Mastercard from competitors
• In this context understands and advocates for new features and functionality against market and customer needs prioritizing their deployment with Global Product partners, and ensuring regional customer and localization needs are embedded in global roadmap
• Partners with CSCs / Divisions to integrate global strategy into market strategy
• Partners with Global PMs to develop new pricing & GTM models, supporting iterative product test & learn, ensuring customers are engaged throughout the product lifecycle including testing
• Partner with Global PMs to align on target joint success metrics
• Act as the key product partner for CSC/Division teams; sharing regional product strategies and ensures a shared understanding of key customer segments and flows
• Own Regional product roadmaps, sharing with Customers through CSCs and Sales
• Create and define Regional GTM strategies to scale products, identifies new channel partners, ensures products are ready (technical, product, delivery, operational), commercial structures are in place and supported with marketing plans, GTM documentation and related sales materials
• Partner with sales, regularly meet with customers to pitch solutions and validate needs
All About You
• Experienced product manager & P&L owner with proved track record of driving growth.
• Strong business acumen and thought leadership that delivers solutions-oriented results to customers and consumers.
• Track record for successful launch and scale of products in a market.
• Comfortable with rigorous and advanced analytics and innovation trends (e.g. AI) with experience with analytics and consulting and/or SaaS products preferred.
• Strong entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to translate Global strategy into relevant narratives for client and/or market propositions.
• Led complex cross-functional programs.
• Demonstrated ability to develop strategic go-to-market plans.
• Ability to influence and motivate others across geographies, to achieve objectives and to set a strategic vision of the business across the region
• Viewed as senior subject matter expert who is sought out to engage with customers and support sales with complex deals. Strong understanding of relevant consumer, industry and market trends.
• Demonstrates the ability to develop “out of the box” solutions, drive synergies for the organization and to create support for initiatives across organization and geographies.
• Growth mindset, comfortable navigating in rapidly changing environments.
• Strong analytical skills and experience managing P&Ls to successful outcomes including navigating market and regulatory dynamics.
• Strong people leader with the ability to build highly motivated and successful teams, and develop talent
• Strong networking skills with both internal and external stakeholders with the ability to listen, build common ground, and influence.
• Strong written, presentation and verbal communications skills.
• Acts with a sense of urgency and strong track record on delivering results.
• Direct experience working in Asia-Pacific markets and across cultures preferred. Experience working in an international, matrix environment is highly desirable.
• Understanding of Financial services and Retail/commerce sectors preferred
• Sound understanding of Mastercard’s Core Payments and new flows businesses to drive solutioning that powers the flywheel
