Job Description
CD PROJEKT RED is looking for a talented and experienced Senior VFX Artist to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for creating high-quality real-time visual FX for characters, environments and gameplay. You will also help refine the VFX pipeline, optimize visual effects for performance and maintain high-quality standards.
Daily Responsibilities
- Create high quality real-time visual effects- explosions, fire, smoke, clouds, weapons FX, debris and weather elements.
- Collaborate with multiple disciplines to support gameplay, cinematics, environments, with VFX requirements.
- Research new and innovative workflows, push what is possible in VFX.
- Ensure VFX content is performant and within budgets.
- Populating environments with VFX.
- Write and prepare briefs for work with outsource vendors, review work as necessary.
- Work with directors and Production to estimate and plan work.
- Mentor other VFX artists, and help build an environment of creativity, trust, and excellence.
Qualifications
- Ability to work independently to identify and own work, deliver results.
- At least 6 years of experience in the gaming industry.
- Experience with both real time and baked simulation.
- Knowledge with standard software: Houdini, Max, Maya, etc.
- Solid portfolio demonstrating expertise.
- Understanding of PBR concepts.
- Understanding of rendering techniques, real-time shaders and lighting.
- Understanding of performance and optimization.
- Good general knowledge of Maya (or 3ds Max).
- SideFX Houdini knowledge is a big plus.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
