In this role, you will:
- Expand Capability: Design and integrate deployment support for next-generation vehicle components and subsystems.
- Architect Infrastructure: Enhance the core deployment framework, developer tools, instrumentation, and integrations with broader engineering systems.
- Optimize Performance: Drive systemic improvements in deployment speed, efficiency, and mission-critical reliability.
- Root-Cause Failures: Triage, debug, and resolve complex deployment failures across hardware and software boundaries.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner closely with Firmware, QA, Systems, Manufacturing, and Fleet Operations teams to ensure seamless end-to-end execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7+ years of professional experience developing clean, scalable code in Python.
- Strong working knowledge of Linux within embedded or constrained environments.
- Familiarity with CAN or other embedded/automotive communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet, LIN).
- Demonstrated excellence in hardware/software triage, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
Bonus Qualifications
- Proficiency in systems-level programming languages without automatic memory management (e.g., C or C++).
- Experience configuring or optimizing software build systems (e.g., Bazel, CMake).

Compensation There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $179,000 to $294,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
