Responsibilities
- Lead the design of user-centered experiences for PayJoy’s digital products, providing simple and intuitive experiences that delight our customers.
- Provide structure and strategy to scale the UX/UI function, supporting more products as the company grows.
- Manage and mentor a junior designer, fostering a strong design culture within the organization.
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and data analysis to inform design decisions.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that align with business goals and customer needs.
- Work closely with product managers and engineers to bring designs to life, balancing user needs with technical constraints.
- Develop and maintain a scalable design system that ensures consistency across products and markets.
- Advocate for best practices in UX/UI, leveraging data and user insights to improve conversion, engagement, and overall usability.
- Iterate on designs based on feedback from stakeholders, users, and performance analytics.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in UI/UX design, preferably in fintech, e-commerce, or other high-growth technology companies.
- A strong portfolio showcasing experience in user-centered design, with examples of projects that span multiple markets or diverse user bases.
- Experience in both leading and executing design work, with the ability to balance strategic oversight and hands-on design tasks.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch).
- Experience conducting usability testing, taking a data-driven approach to design decision-making.
- Strong understanding of responsive and mobile-first design principles.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment, collaborating effectively with product and engineering teams.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and rationale.
- Experience managing or mentoring designers is a plus.
- English proficiency.
