Lead UX/UI Designer

We are seeking a visionary and technically adept Lead UX/UI Designer to join our dynamic AI Civil Engineering product team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of visual storytelling, data interaction, and web-based, gaming and 3D map data platform design. You will lead the design of a complex, data-intensive B2B platform transforming intricate datasets into intuitive, engaging, and interactive user experiences. 

What You'll Do

• Lead Visual Interaction Design: Spearhead the end-to-end UX/UI design process for our web-based –3D data platform, from initial concept and user research, focusing on visual processes of interaction and data representation. Translate complex data flows into immersive, game-like interfaces that enhance usability and engagement. 
• Design for Data-Driven Systems: Create intuitive workflows and interfaces that support data transfer, processing, and visualization, enabling users to interact with large datasets in meaningful and efficient ways. 
• User-Centric Research: Conduct user research tailored to B2B clients in civil engineering and geospatial domains. Leverage insights to design interfaces that align with user expectations and business goals. 
• Visual-First Approach: Develop a sophisticated visual design system that prioritizes graphical communication—including interactive maps, dashboards, and modular UI components—over traditional text-heavy layouts. 
• Gaming-Inspired UX Thinking: Apply principles from game design to create engaging, responsive, and rewarding user experiences. Use feedback loops, progressive disclosure, and visual cues to guide users through complex tasks. 
• Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to ensure seamless integration of design with platform functionality. 
• Advocate for Design Excellence: Champion user-centered design across the organization. Present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders, emphasizing the value of visual clarity and interaction design. 

• Proven Experience: A portfolio showcasing your work on data-heavy, web-based platforms with a strong emphasis on visual interaction and user engagement. Experience in B2B environments is essential. 
• Gaming Background or web 3D map data: Experience or familiarity with game design principles, interactive systems, or gamified UX is highly desirable. 
• Technical Proficiency: Expertise in design and prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD) and a solid understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript). 
• Data Visualization Skills: Ability to design and implement interactive data visualizations using libraries like D3.js, Mapbox, or CesiumJS. 
• Client-Facing Communication: Strong skills in presenting design concepts to clients and stakeholders, especially in technical or engineering contexts. 
• Analytical Mindset: Ability to translate complex user needs and technical requirements into elegant, visual-first design solutions. 
• User Empathy: Passion for understanding user behavior and crafting experiences that are both functional and delightful. 

Bonus Points:

• Experience with mapping libraries and APIs (Mapbox, Leaflet, CesiumJS). 
• Familiarity with platforms like GISonLINE, ProjectWise, or other geospatial/civil engineering tools. 
• Background in HCI, Game Design, or Visual Communication. 
• Experience designing for platforms that handle large-scale data processing and transfer.
