Summary Generated by Built In

Today’s world is complex and rapidly evolving. Criminals exploit technology in ways that demand advanced, intelligence‑driven investigative tools. For nearly 30 years, Cognyte has combined deep domain expertise with cutting‑edge analytics to help protect global communities.

We value ownership, precision, discipline, and people who transform complexity into clarity.

We are seeking a Senior UX Researcher with strong product‑management capabilities to lead research and experience strategy for the Network Intelligence product suite - mission‑critical, data‑dense enterprise solutions used by intelligence and law‑enforcement agencies worldwide.

This role requires a professional who enforces standards, drives alignment, and ensures product decisions are grounded in evidence, user needs, and market realities.

As a Cognyter you will:

  • Own the UX research agenda for the Network Intelligence suite, establishing priorities and enforcing a disciplined, outcome‑driven research process.
  • Develop an authoritative understanding of customer environments - operational models, workflows, regulatory constraints, and mission‑critical use cases.
  • Lead structured discovery by defining precise problem statements, validating assumptions, and producing insights that eliminate uncertainty in decision‑making.
  • Identify workflow gaps, friction, and usability failures across complex enterprise scenarios, and drive clear recommendations for resolution.
  • Consolidate and synthesize customer feedback from all channels into coherent, actionable evidence that directly informs product direction.
  • Map user behavior, motivations, mental models, and operational constraints with depth and accuracy.
  • Produce high‑impact research outputs - personas, journeys, workflow maps, behavioral insights, and opportunity models - designed to influence decisions, not document for decoration.
  • Build and maintain research frameworks, templates, and methodologies tailored to the Network Intelligence domain, ensuring consistency and high rigor across teams.
  • Apply and advocate for modern, rigorous research methods and tools that strengthen reliability and scalability of insights.
  • Conduct continuous market and competitive analysis, identifying opportunities for differentiation and aligning UX strategy with real-world demands.
  • Partner with UX, Product, Engineering, and domain experts to convert insight into clear, feasible, high‑value product decisions.
  • Drive prioritization across teams, weighing user impact, business value, strategic alignment, and technical feasibility.
  • Act as the research quality benchmark, ensuring insights are precise, evidence‑based, and actionable.
  • Lead or support cross‑product UX initiatives that elevate design quality, consistency, and strategic maturity across Cognyte.
  • Define and advocate for smooth, predictable enterprise workflows that reduce cognitive load, streamline complexity, and raise product coherence.
  • Push the product toward modern, intuitive, resilient UX by identifying unnecessary complexity and enforcing experience clarity.
  • Maintain mastery of UX trends, enterprise UX patterns, and evolving research methodologies, applying them with judgment and discipline.

For that mission you’ll need:

  • 5+ years of UX Research or Product Research in complex enterprise, B2B, or data‑intensive products.
  • Strong product‑management mindset with mastery of market dynamics, customer segmentation, competitive landscapes, and business objectives.
  • Hands-on proficiency with modern UX design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma), including the ability to create wireframes, interaction flows, and low-to-mid fidelity prototypes to validate research hypotheses.
  • A proven ability to influence product decisions through disciplined, evidence‑based insights.
  • Demonstrated skill in identifying broken flows, diagnosing root causes, and improving enterprise user experiences.
  • Expert‑level qualitative research skills, including interviewing, synthesis, modeling, and structured communication of insights.
  • Ability to establish priorities clearly, enforce research rigor, and align teams around fact‑based decisions.
  • Experience contributing to long‑lived products with complex workflows and significant operational impact.
  • Deep understanding of UX design principles, product development processes, and engineering constraints.
  • Experience with data‑heavy, cognitively demanding interfaces and the ability to make them intuitive, predictable, and efficient.
  • Exceptional communication: concise, structured, direct, and influential across senior stakeholders.

Nice to have:

  • Industry experience in intelligence/security;
  • Familiarity with AI‑assisted workflows, explainability, and trust;
  • Experience scaling research practices;
  • Understanding of design systems;
  • Practical experience with enterprise collaboration tools like Jira and Confluence.

What’s in it for you?

  • Opportunity to shape the future of mission-critical products used globally by law enforcement and intelligence agencies.
  • Collaborative environment with UX, product, and engineering leader
  • Competitive compensation, benefits, and career growth opportunities.

Remember: When you're curious enough, you don't need to check every box to apply. Be in touch!
