We are looking for a talented Senior UX Researcher (UXR) to join our dynamic Digital Guest UX Team, in Barcelona! 

As a pioneer in this role, you will play a crucial part in shaping the user experience for our hotel guests, working on the B2C side of our business. You will set up, conduct, and report on all aspects of qualitative and quantitative user research, helping to design and develop cutting-edge digital products. This is a unique opportunity to elevate the importance of research, establish methodologies, and mentor designers, all while being part of a global team spread across different locations.

Your main responsibilities

  • Advocate for Users: Advocate for the user throughout the design and development process, ensuring that user insights are integrated into all stages of product development. 

  • Mentor and Educate: Mentor and educate team members on user research methodologies and best practices. 

  • Collaborate with Teams: Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and developers to define research objectives, develop research plans, and prioritize research activities. 

  • Plan and Conduct Research:  Plan and conduct user research activities for discovery and validation. Sets research objectives, conducts various research activities ( including interviews, surveys, usability testing, etc. to gain insights into user behaviours, motivations, and pain points), recruit participants, generates insights, evaluates user experience, and facilitates design sessions. 

  • Analyse and Synthesize Data: Analyse research data and synthesize findings into actionable insights and recommendations that inform product strategy and design decisions. 

  • Create and update UR artifacts: Create detailed user personas, journey maps, and other artifacts to communicate research findings and ensure a deep understanding of user needs across the organization. 

  • Share Findings: Communicate research findings and advocate for UX across multidisciplinary teams. 

  • Stay Informed: Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in user research and related fields. 

  • UR strategy: Influence priorities and roadmap for various projects in collaboration with UX management. 

About the ideal candidate:

  • Educational Background:  Bachelor's or Master's in psychology, human-computer interaction, anthropology, or a related field. 

  • Experience: Proven experience as a UX researcher or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing your research skills and process. 

  • Research Expertise: Deep understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, with experience in planning and conducting various research activities. 

  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with research tools and platforms such as UserTesting, UsabilityHub, Dovetail and survey software. 

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to translate research findings into actionable insights and recommendations. 

  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively present research findings to cross-functional teams. 

  • Organisational Skills: Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple research projects simultaneously.
