THE OPPORTUNITY

UX designer at Scholastic Magazines+ is responsible for creating simple, engaging, and intuitive user experiences and interface. They collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to deliver high value design solutions. Their tasks include developing information architecture, user stories, wireframes, and prototypes, evaluating data for design strategies, overseeing user experiences from concept to launch, ensuring consistency across products, and incorporating user feedback into designs. Additionally, they translate user needs and business requirements into tangible design elements

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create sustainable and scalable UI within Scholastic’s design system

  • Create and implement global design system to final design

  • Create overall user flow for products

  • Provide accurate design specs to engineering team

  • Create design mockups from initial wireframe to final clickable prototype

Qualifications

HOW YOU CAN FIT (Qualifications)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 4+ years in UX/UI design role 

  • Expert knowledge and skillset creating design system components and prototypes in Figma

  • Portfolio featuring examples of UX/UI design work

  • Strong knowledge in responsive and WCAG standards

  • Experienced in working in agile product dev system

  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated with a passion for pixel perfection, consistency, organization, usability, and discoverability

  • Strong visual communication skills with a keen eye for typography, layout, and color

  • Ability to prototype designs and support user testing sessions

  • Ability to think at a high level about product strategy

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills–you’ll be expected to be able to clearly communicate design decisions and keep track of all projects and documentation

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging work environment

  • Proficiency in Adobe CC and other design tools

  • Adobe Experience Manager knowledge is a plus
