Senior UX Designer – AI & Agentic Experiences

Location: Bangalore, India (On-site, 5 days a week)

Employment Type: Full-time

Design for a World in Motion

At Maersk, we are transforming global trade through technology, data, and design. As we evolve from a logistics company into a technology-enabled logistics integrator, software and digital experiences play a critical role in creating value for both our customers and our business.

Design at Maersk goes beyond interfaces and interaction patterns. We are increasingly creating connected, AI-enabled experiences that span complex end-to-end journeys. This shift requires designers who can think beyond screens, embrace ambiguity, and leverage AI throughout the design process to understand problems faster, explore solutions more broadly, and validate ideas earlier.

We are looking for a proactive, AI-first Senior UX Designer to help shape the future of operational experiences that support the movement of goods around the world.

About the Role

In this role, you will design the products, workflows, and intelligent experiences that operational teams rely on to deliver transportation services at a global scale. From shipment planning to issue resolution, your work will enable seamless collaboration between users and AI-powered systems across the logistics journey.

You will join the Ocean Transportation Experience Design Team, a key part of Maersk Experience Design. Our vision is to transform a landscape of disconnected applications into a unified, AI-enabled operational ecosystem that reduces complexity, eliminates friction, and improves efficiency for users worldwide.

This is an opportunity to help define how AI and human expertise work together in one of the world's most complex industries.

Why Join Maersk?

Joining Maersk means becoming part of a purpose-driven organization where technology, design, and innovation are shaping the future of global trade.

As part of our UX community, you will:

  • Contribute to meaningful change in one of the world's most essential industries.
  • Help build a unified, AI-enabled ecosystem for the people who move cargo around the globe.
  • Work at the forefront of AI-powered design practices and emerging technologies.
  • Influence strategic decisions through design leadership and customer-centered thinking.
  • Collaborate within a diverse, global design community that values autonomy, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Access shared design capabilities, including our design system, AI design principles, research practices, and customer insight frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior UX Designer, you will shape experiences rather than just interfaces. You will determine when the right solution is a user interface, an intelligent agent acting on a user's behalf, or an automated workflow that removes unnecessary interaction altogether.

You will:

  • Design complete end-to-end experiences across one or more products.
  • Define how users and AI systems interact through seamless, intuitive workflows.
  • Identify user research needs and ensure the right problem framing before solutioning.
  • Design experience journeys that intelligently combine interfaces, AI agents, and automation.
  • Apply AI and agentic design principles as core elements of the design process.
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and rapid validation exercises, including AI-driven experiences.
  • Partner closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, Engineers, and business stakeholders from discovery through delivery.
  • Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity designs, and production-ready specifications.
  • Leverage AI-powered tools to accelerate research, ideation, prototyping, and validation.
  • Collaborate across Maersk's global design organization to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Give and receive constructive feedback to continuously elevate design standards.

What We're Looking ForExperience & Expertise

You likely bring:

  • 8+ years of experience in UX Design, Product Design, or UX Research.
  • Experience designing enterprise applications or operational tools where efficiency, productivity, and workflow optimization are critical.
  • A degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, Product Design, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating an AI-first approach to design, including examples of how AI enhanced your process and how outputs were evaluated and refined.
  • Hands-on experience designing AI-powered experiences such as assistants, copilots, recommendation systems, intelligent automation, or agentic workflows.
  • Deep expertise in Figma, design systems, and modern AI-powered design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma Make, Claude, or similar platforms).
  • Experience working within agile, iterative product development environments.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design practices, rapid experimentation, user panels, and continuous feedback loops.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across countries, cultures, and time zones.

Communication & Collaboration

You should possess:

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Professional fluency in written and spoken English (C1 level or higher).
  • Confidence facilitating workshops, presenting design concepts, and articulating design decisions to global audiences.
  • The ability to influence product direction through strong storytelling, collaboration, and evidence-based design thinking.

How You'll WorkBangalore-Based, Globally Connected

This position is based in our Bangalore office and requires on-site collaboration five days a week. You will be part of a vibrant local technology and design community while working closely with designers, product managers, and engineers across Europe and other Maersk locations.

Success in this role requires strong asynchronous collaboration skills and the flexibility to partner effectively across multiple time zones, with regular overlap with European working hours.

Shape the Future of AI-Enabled Operations

If you're excited about designing intelligent experiences, leveraging AI as a core design capability, and solving complex operational challenges at global scale, we'd love to hear from you. Join us in redefining how global trade works through thoughtful, human-centered, AI-powered design.
