Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Mixed Methods Senior User Researcher to join our team.
As the Mixed Methods Senior User Researcher, you will work with cross-functional teams to lead, design, execute, and communicate impactful research to help shape the company’s products.
The right candidate will be driven to develop a keen understanding and deep empathy for the diverse challenges faced by our users. You will design, conduct, and analyze user research that provides actionable insights to address these challenges in measurable ways.
You will be comfortable working throughout the entire product lifecycle: from observing and interviewing users, mapping existing journeys and identifying key opportunities, to validating and optimizing user experiences to maximize their positive impact on the lives of teachers and students.
Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct user research studies, including usability tests, interviews, surveys, and ethnographic research to understand user needs and behaviours.
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to generate actionable insights and recommendations that influence product strategy and design decisions.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to integrate user research findings into the product development process.
- Create user archetypes, journey maps, research reports and other deliverables that effectively communicate user insights and pain points.
- Advocate for the user by presenting research findings to stakeholders and influencing product decisions.
- Assist with research operations, including participant recruitment, research tooling, and documentation.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in UX research
- Develop and promote research programs, platforms, and toolkits that empower other team members to conduct research.
Essential Criteria
- 3+ years senior experience in a user research role.
- Strong understanding of various research methods and when to apply them.
- Experience conducting end-to-end user research, and translating insights into actionable design decisions in a complex, commercial environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using UX research tools for both qualitative and quantitative studies.
- Demonstrable ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner to team members and stakeholders.
- A good team player, able to work collaboratively with fellow researchers, designers, product managers, and developers.
Desirable criteria
- Experience with data analysis, statistical modelling, survey design, data visualizations, and relevant data tools.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology or other related field.
- Familiarity with the education technology sector and an understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within this field.
- Experience in early-stage product development.
- Experience in organizing and leading co-creation workshops or design thinking sessions with diverse stakeholders.
