Choice Hotels, one of the world’s largest lodging franchisors, has an exciting new opportunity as our Senior Upscale Brands Management Project Manager in the Upscale Brands Segment. The Upscale Brands Segment is the team that supports, oversees, and develops our Upscale portfolio. As a member of our Upscale Brand Segment team, you will be responsible for project management of brand initiatives and programs, business processes, and brand resources for the portfolio. In this role, you will also deliver projects that support brand strategy and performance, business process optimization, brand communications, and brand development.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage detailed project plans for brand initiatives, ensuring timely execution and adherence to set timelines.

  • Monitor the progress of brand projects, addressing any operational challenges that arise.

  • Activities include developing and managing projects, tactical implementation plans, collaborating with cross-functional teams, identifying project roadblocks, recommending corrective actions, and tracking performance metrics, as necessary.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of brand programs, using metrics and KPIs to measure success and guide improvements.

  • Organize, participate, and represent the brand at events, webinars, trade shows and conferences to increase brand visibility, build relationships with potential partners and customers.

  • Serve as a champion of the Upscale brands via the ongoing optimization of brand programs and initiatives.

  • Support brand management efforts by effectively communicating and promoting brand values and initiatives internally and externally.

  • Work on creating the visual identity of the Upscale brands to shape perception and create an impression through the visible elements of each Upscale brand.

  • Manage the execution of Upscale brands business plans, programs, and brand strategy initiatives, and communicate progress of execution to Upscale team and key stakeholders.

  • Maintain resources such as brand immersion, owner meetings, and sales training calendars.

  • Assist in preparation, participation and/or facilitation of brand immersion and kick off calls, aimed to create and support the brand culture.

  • Develop reports and presentations for leadership and upscale team meetings, advisory council quarterly meetings, and annual events such as Owners Meeting and Convention.

Your Experience, Skills & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university in Finance, Business Management, Hotel Management, or a relevant field of study is required.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the hospitality industry and/or hotel management or the travel industry is preferred with a focus on project/program management. Project management certification a plus.

  • Proficient in Tableau and Smartsheet preferred.

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.

  • Ability to communicate successfully with stakeholders of various disciplines and levels.

  • Flexibility to change priorities and ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.

  • Ability to work collaboratively across a highly matrixed organization.

  • Motivated self-starter who is highly results-oriented and is able to work independently and with limited supervision.

  • Excellent leadership skills with a proven ability to develop relationships with associates at all levels of the organization and drive results in a team-oriented environment.

  • Excellent business-savvy with a consultative approach and holistic business view; ability to influence and collaborate with leaders across organizational lines.

  • Excellent ability to manage ambiguity combined with an ability to leverage data and create a foundation of data-supported decision making.

  • Collaborative mindset, with a focus on working with teams across the organization to achieve brand goals.

  • Flexibility in creating and making changes or re-directing initiatives to continuously improve the strategy and organization, showing comfort with change management, and working in a matrix-based organization.

  • Advanced use of Microsoft Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.


Your Team

This is an individual contributor role that will report to the Senior Director, Upscale Brand Operations & Performance. You will have 1 peer teammate and collaborate with cross functional departments on a regular basis.

Your Work Location

As our Senior Upscale Brands Management Project Manager, you will be based in our beautiful, state-of-the-art worldwide corporate headquarters in North Bethesda, MD. Less than 15 miles from Washington, DC, we’re located one block away from the North Bethesda Metro station, with service on the Red Line and the MARC Brunswick line, easy access to I-270, and plenty of free parking provided by Choice Hotels.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $98,088 to $109,500 annually. In addition to the annual salary, this role is eligible for an annual bonus based on the terms of Choice's Management Incentive Plan (MIP).

The pay range listed is for this position and is what Choice Hotels reasonably expects to pay. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
