About the Role
Dandy is hiring a talented UI/UX engineer to build streamlined interfaces and user experiences for 3D digital design products that will form the backbone of the next generation of digital dental labs.
In this role, you will design elegant, modern UIs and efficient workflows for 3D CAD-type digital design applications. You will integrate and interface with generative AI and 3D model processing pipelines that power key aspects of the company. You will work closely with designers as well as the geometry, algorithms, and back-end engineering teams while adhering to contemporary design patterns and best-practices.
The ideal candidate is obsessively customer focused and detail oriented. You will be responsible for minimizing the friction in using a complex suite of digital tools for dental design, creating interfaces and experiences that are powerful yet uncluttered. Having some experience with 3D design tools (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Blender, etc) is a big plus, even if you don't need to be an expert.
What You’ll Do
Work cross-functionally to deliver practical solutions to real-world 3D problems across our engineering org
Design and implement intuitive interfaces for complex 3D operations with an emphasis on modularity and reusability of code
Build interactive web tools that allow doctors, lab technicians and patients to interact with 3D scans and medical images
Work with cross-functional teams of product managers, designers, software engineers, computer vision engineers, dentists, and 3D dental designers
Build observability into user interactions to surface issues and produce data for training machine learning models
Advocate for designer experience, driving down design time and improving quality
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of experience as a front-end UI developer, UX engineer, design technologist, or similar role, preferably in a high growth environment
A portfolio of relevant work
Experience building user interfaces for 3D applications
Experience developing user interfaces using React, including building reusable components, managing state, and working with React hooks and context
Proficient in JavaScript/Typescript and its ecosystem, as well as experience developing within large JS/TS applications
Contemporary understanding of the latest design technology trends and industry news
Genuine believer in constructive and respectful code reviews, retros, and collaborative problem-solving as the bedrock of a healthy team
Collaborative, pragmatic, and growth-oriented mindset, driving consensus with peers and providing clear status updates
Ability to clearly and concisely communicate about complex technical, architectural, and/or organizational problems and propose thorough iterative solutions
Self-motivated and self-managing, with excellent organizational skills
Ability to thrive in a remote-first organization

Experience with working with CI/CD pipelines
Fluency in interface design tools such as Figma or Canva
