Working in close partnership with UX Designers, Product Managers, and Engineering, this individual will establish the technical foundation that enables teams to build consistent, accessible, and maintainable user experiences across the CEM platform.

This role is ideal for an engineer who is passionate about UI quality, enjoys collaborating with designers, and has deep experience building enterprise Angular applications using modern component-based architecture.

Key Responsibilities

Design System Architecture & Ownership

  • Own the technical implementation and evolution of the CEM Design System built on PrimeNG and Angular.

  • Extend and customize PrimeNG components to create a branded, enterprise-ready component library aligned with UX standards.

  • Define and maintain design token implementation, theming architecture, accessibility standards, and reusable UI patterns.

  • Establish component APIs and implementation guidelines that encourage consistency and reuse across engineering teams.

  • Build, version, and publish shared UI components for consumption across multiple product teams.

  • Partner with UX to ensure design decisions are accurately represented within the component library.

Storybook Ownership

  • Own the Storybook environment as the authoritative documentation site for reusable UI components.

  • Develop comprehensive component documentation including usage guidance, interaction states, accessibility considerations, and implementation examples.

  • Integrate Storybook into the CI/CD pipeline to automate publishing and validation.

  • Implement visual regression testing using Chromatic or comparable tooling to identify UI regressions before release.

  • Establish documentation standards and contribution guidelines for engineering teams.

Front-End Engineering

  • Lead implementation of complex Angular UI features using reusable design system components.

  • Collaborate with UX Designers during discovery and design handoff to ensure designs are technically feasible and efficiently implemented.

  • Participate in sprint planning, estimation, technical design reviews, and architecture discussions.

  • Promote component reuse and reduce duplication across applications.

  • Review pull requests for UI quality, accessibility, and adherence to design system standards.

Design System Governance

  • Establish front-end standards covering accessibility, component usage, styling conventions, testing, and documentation.

  • Maintain WCAG 2.1 AA compliance across reusable components.

  • Define contribution workflows for new components and enhancements.

  • Partner with Engineering leadership to evolve the design system roadmap.

  • Support adoption of the design system through documentation, code reviews, and mentoring

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as the primary engineering partner to the UX team.

  • Translate design intent into scalable Angular component implementations.

  • Provide technical guidance during UX discovery and feature planning.

  • Work closely with Product Management and Engineering to balance user experience, technical constraints, and delivery timelines.

  • Participate in design reviews and release validation to ensure implementation quality.

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • 5+ years of front-end engineering experience building enterprise SaaS applications.
