Design Systems Designer - 12 month Fixed Term
Do work that matters
As a Senior UI Designer on Lumen, our Commbank Design System, you’ll be proactively driving efficiencies across one of the biggest digital teams in the southern hemisphere. You’ll be collaborating daily with engineers, designers and business stakeholders to advocate and champion for the CBA Design System across our retail assets—The Commbank app and Netbank.
You’ll likely have a base skillset of UI or Product Design craft and working in an agile environment, but we’d really love to meet people with the following skills:
Technical Knowledge
- Demonstrate an understanding of code, with experience working with tokens considered a plus.
- Experience in both web and native platforms is desirable.
- Strong visual communication skills with technical expertise in Figma.
- Ability to create usable, accessible, and modular designs in a sustainable manner.
Collaboration and Communication Skills
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a low-ego, cross-functional team.
- Confidence to constructively challenge and collaborate with engineering teams.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to give and receive feedback.
- Experience working and collaborating with diverse teams in a dynamic, rapid-growth environment.
Design System Advocacy and Leadership
- Capability to provide guidance on design systems to various teams.
- Proficiency in conducting design system user research and interviewing design system consumers.
- Proven track record of driving successful outcomes from other design systems.
- Act as an ambassador and champion for the design system team.
Continuous Improvement
- Proactive in seeking continuous improvement and streamlining work processes.
- Stay current on technology, design, and trends related to Design Systems.
- Find innovative ways to incorporate Figma updates into the design system and overall design processes.
- Proactively stay up to date with standards such as the Apple Human Interface Guidelines (HIG) and Material Design
