The Senior Trade Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the company's trade compliance program. This role focuses on ensuring adherence to international trade laws, regulations, and standards while supporting the organization's business objectives. This role requires an experienced leader who can lead an effective team of trade compliance individuals and has experience in managing a trade compliance program in a research and development environment. This role reports directly to the Director, of Trade Compliance.

 

This position is based out of Westlake Village, CA.

 

Essential Duties

+Regulatory Compliance

· Ensure full compliance with relevant international trade laws and regulations, including export controls, sanctions, customs regulations, and trade agreements.

· Develop, implement, and maintain trade compliance policies and procedures.

· Monitor, interpret, and communicate changes in trade regulations to stakeholders.

· Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and regulatory constraints, and work with external partners to establish processes and procedures that ensure compliance while maximizing operational efficiency.

· Must possess an advanced knowledge of the export classification process.

· Significant understanding of US Customs regulations

 

+Risk Management

· Identify and assess potential compliance risks related to trade activities.

· Conduct regular compliance audits and self-reviews.

· Manage and respond to trade compliance issues or violations.

 

+Program Leadership

· Lead and mentor a team of trade compliance professionals.

· Develop and deliver training programs on global trade compliance requirements.

· Establish metrics and reporting mechanisms to measure the effectiveness of the trade compliance program.

· Foster communication and build relationships across the company's functions, vendors, and regulators

 

+Documentation Management

· Oversee the management of import/export licensing, classification and analysis of export and import determinations made.

· Ensure accuracy and compliance of all trade-related documentation.

 

Required Skills:

· Deep expertise in trade compliance regulations, including ITAR, EAR, and customs regulations.

· Strong leadership and team development skills.

Required Education:

· Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Law, Business, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certifications are desirable.

· Minimum of 10 years of experience in global trade compliance, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.

· Customs Brokerage License strongly preferred but not required

· Technical expertise in Semiconductor industry preferred.

· Must possess advanced knowledge of research and development in the regulatory environment.

 

Special Requirements:

Eligible to obtain and maintain a personal security clearance as necessary.

Ability and willingness to travel up to 15% travel time.


Compensation:

The base salary range for this full-time position is $145,745- $186,688 + bonus + benefits.
