About The Role

Weka is looking for a motivated and experienced Senior Tools developer. You'll be part of highly skilled team of Software Engineers who design, develop, and maintain our customer-facing and internal tools that make WEKA software easier to deploy, maintain, and monitor.
As a Senior Tools Developer, you will:

• Develop and maintain Python or Go-based tools and services used by the company’s Professional Services and Systems Engineering groups, as well as Customers.
• Work closely with Weka's Product Management, Professional Services, and Sales Engineering teams to define requirements and design new or enhance existing tools
• Work closely with Weka’s R&D team, coordinating the interaction between the tools and the core product
• Help simplify the Weka installation experience
  

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience in Linux Systems Administration (installing, maintaining, tuning, etc) and programming.
• Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience in Python.
• Strong experience in IP Networking
• At least 8 years of experience in software development.
• Strong ability to understand and troubleshoot complex code.
• Strong ability to understand and troubleshoot networks
• Proven experience working with Linux system environments
  

Bonus Points

• Experience with Ubuntu Linux Administration, in particular
• Experience with GoLang
• Experience with Infiniband Networks
• Experience with High-speed (400Gb) networks
• Experience with Grafana/Prometheus or other visualization tools
• Experience with RESTful APIs, particularly RedFish
• Experience with Docker or k8s and Container technologies
• Experience with git/github, docker hub, and pypi
• Experience with Parallel Filesystems, NFS, SMB, and S3 protocols
• An understanding of performance metrics and what they mean in Storage devices
• An understanding of the Linux Operating System lifecycle
• Experience with Docker or k8s and Container technologies
