As part of a development team with approximately 5-7 SW developers, you will contribute to software and hardware integration testing for advanced technical solutions and control software features. In addition to testing activities, you will help further develop our testing expertise and drive continuous improvements in our test processes and competencies.
Your Role
As a System Test Engineer, you will be a member of a (Scaled Agile) organised development team, focusing on automated testing of control software features within the Loopsorter domain.
This software manages parcel flow logic in sorter systems and controls the sorter area. It also provides diagnostic data, supports the user interface, and handles communication with customer IT Solutions. Additional functionalities include logistics transport control, reporting, data analysis, and simulation.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary development team, you will collaborate closely with software and hardware developers to ensure seamless system integration and high product quality.
The test activities are partly on emulation environments and partly on the real hardware in our test centre and include component, regression and SW release testing.
Your Responsibilities
- Actively participate in defining system integration scenarios using Gherkin
- Implement automated test scenarios in code using our custom Test Automation Framework
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with a strong analytical mindset
- Independently execute, analyze, and report on system integration tests
- Solve work-related technical challenges within your operational environment
- Collaborate effectively with highly skilled development team members and software development teams
Your Profile
To succeed in this role, you bring the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
Education & Certifications
- Higher Professional Education (HBO) qualification or University degree (WO), preferably wit mechatronic or electrical background with SW affinity
- ISTQB Foundation certification (or equivalent)
- ISTQB Advanced Test Automation Engineer certification (or equivalent) is a plus
Experience
- At least 3 years of software development and/or testing experience, with a strong focus on quality in a technical environment
- Minimum 2 years of experience with C# and Visual Studio / Visual Studio Code
- Experience with Build / Deploy / Test pipelines is an advantage
- Experience working in Agile Scrum or Kanban teams is a plus
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of Linux (Debian) and Windows operating systems
- Familiarity with DevOps, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery is an advantage
- Knowledge of Gherkin is a plus
- Experience with PowerShell
- Knowledge of Docker
- Experience with Requirements Management, Change Management, Version Control, and Test Management tools
- Familiarity with Jira, Git, Bitbucket, Bamboo, and Artifactory
- Knowledgeable in creating Test Plans, Test Designs and Test cases.
