Senior QA Engineer - Estimation and Quotation Calculation

Role Summary
The Senior QA Engineer will be responsible for manual functional testing, regression testing, SQL validation, and end-to-end quality assurance for Engineering Estimation and Quotation Calculation applications.
The role requires a QA professional who can understand HVAC business processes, engineering configuration, quotation calculations, financial/mathematical calculations, and data-driven application behaviour. The candidate will work closely with Product Owners, Developers, Architects, Configuration Managers, Engineering SMEs, and Business teams to ensure calculation accuracy, application stability, and non-regression of existing business workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Perform manual functional and regression testing for estimation, engineering configuration, and quotation calculation features.
Validate engineering quotation calculations, pricing outputs, labour/cost calculations, rollups, summaries, and business-rule-driven results.
Review requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and design documents to prepare detailed test scenarios and test cases.
Validate expected vs actual calculation results using sample data, business formulas, and financial/mathematical logic.
Execute end-to-end testing across UI, API, database, and configuration-driven flows.
Perform SQL validation across reference data, runtime data, calculated output tables, and summary/rollup data.
Validate stored procedure outputs, backend data changes, and application behaviour after configuration updates.
Test editable fields, read-only fields, calculated fields, feature flags, entitlements, and regression scenarios.
Log clear defects with test data, steps to reproduce, expected results, actual results, and supporting evidence.
Support UAT, defect triage, release readiness, and production validation activities.
Required Skills and Experience
7+ years of experience in manual software testing for enterprise business applications.
Good understanding of engineering estimation, quotation calculation, pricing, costing, or financial calculation workflows.
Relevant experience in engineering configuration and/or quotation calculation systems.
Good understanding of HVAC business processes is strongly preferred.
Strong ability to validate financial and mathematical calculations, including percentages, margins, markups, discounts, cost, sell price, totals, and rollups.
Good SQL Server knowledge with ability to write basic and intermediate SQL queries.
Experience validating data across multiple backend tables and stored procedure outputs.
Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, Swagger, or similar.
Experience preparing test scenarios, test cases, test data, defect reports, and regression test suites.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with Product, Development, QA, Configuration, Engineering, and Business teams.
Preferred Skills
Experience testing HVAC, estimation, CPQ, quotation, pricing, labour estimation, or engineering configuration applications.
Experience with .NET and SQL Server based enterprise applications.
Experience validating reference-data-driven or configuration-driven systems.
Experience testing configurable grids, summary views, reports, or calculation output screens.
Exposure to feature flag and entitlement-based testing.

Educational Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Mechanical, Controls, Engineering, or related field.
Equivalent practical experience in manual QA, SQL validation, engineering configuration, and quotation calculation testing will also be considered.
