To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add an Senior Test Development Engineer located in Austin TX.
Reporting to the Director of Rack and System Integration the Senior Test Development Engineer will provide on-site engineering oversight during product development and high-volume production across the CEC product portfolio. The position will bring together Operations resources, local CEC resources, and global CEC resources to enhance customer satisfaction, and to reduce the time and cost of engineering support for CEC production
What a typical day looks like:
- Drive NPI activities to implement requirements according to project milestones, coordinating with site IT, CFT personnel with global CEC Design and Test Engineering teams.
- Support production teams with debug/FA and quality reporting to drive yield improvement and cost reduction
- Report to a global Cloud enterprise and communications engineering manager, this position
- Facilitate ECOs and other process changes as required to meet product requirements within scheduled milestones.
- Attend CFT and Customer meetings as required to define/resolve issues affecting project performance or milestones; recommend improvements to processes based on data review.
- May require travel up to 50%
- Drive consistency across projects within the site for implementation standards and support requirements
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- BA/BS degree in relevant field
- Confident customer interfacing skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- 5-7 years’ experience in design, manufacturing, or testing computers, storage, or networking products
- Strong hardware architecture and networking knowledge
- Administrator-level Linux experience
- Programming skills in shell scripts and Python are essential, and experience with Go, YAML, or similar is a benefit.
- Experience in working in an NPI environment and transferring products between facilities.
- Working knowledge of production assembly and test processes
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and maintain a clear and customer-focused approach to solving problems
- Familiarity with software development and tracking software such as VisualStudio, Jira/Bitbucket/Git, etc.
