Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Senior Telecommunications Engineer to join our growing team in Brisbane.

Skills & Duties:

  • Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with project and technical standards.
  • Lead and deliver high‑quality telecommunication design projects across Qld and interstate
  • Act as a technical and delivery lead on telecommunication projects for Qld utilities.
  • Proactively engage with existing and potential clients to identify and develop new business opportunities in the region and strengthen Egis market presence.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary Qualification(s) in Telecommunications Engineering
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience working in a similar position with relevant experience in design and management
  • Highly developed organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Client management skills, and the ability to work with clients to understand their needs, define project scope, and develop project plans and proposals
  • Ability to influence others to achieve outcomes
  • Understanding of major technical areas across rail telecommunication and transport industries to act as Telecommunications SME to deliver desired outcomes for internal and external stakeholders
  • Exceptional project management skills
  • Strong research and analytic skills
  • Sound negotiation skills
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer literate with advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Experience with professional services business environments preferred

Additional Skills & Expertise

The following technical skills are not mandatory, but demonstratable experience in one or more of the following areas is advantageous:

  • IP Networking & Security: SD-WAN, VPN/VLANs, IP/MPLS, SR, DWDM, and Cyber Security (IT/OT).
  • Virtualisation & Data Centre: VMware/KVM, Stretched Clustering, Storage Replication, and VXLAN.
  • Industrial Automation & IoT: SCADA, PLCs, RTUs, IIoT, and Industrial Protocols.
  • Radio & Wireless Infrastructure: Radio/Cellular Site Design, SAED, and Microwave Backhaul.
  • Critical Power & Infrastructure: Telepower (DC/UPS), LV for Telecoms/Signalling, and Solar/Off-grid systems.
  • Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS): Operations, Maintenance, and Systems Integration.
