Senior Technology Analyst

Location: Glasgow – hybrid working

Salary: £48-60K (plus up to 10% bonus and private healthcare cover)

Permanent, Full Time

Help us create a better future, quicker

We are looking for an experienced Operational Resilience DR Senior Analyst who brings deep technical capability and a strong background in Infrastructure Capacity Management. This role is ideal for someone with hands‑on engineering experience across both on‑premises and cloud environments, and who thrives on getting into the detail of how systems truly operate. This is a highly technical position and demands an individual who can confidently explore each layer of the technology stack to validate assumptions, challenge designs, and optimise capacity through direct, evidence‑driven analysis.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you will take ownership of end‑to‑end capacity assessments across facilities, network, storage, compute, database, and application layers, ensuring that performance, scalability, and resilience requirements are met consistently. You will work across both project and BAU activities, contributing to new service designs, migrations, architecture changes, and ongoing optimisation efforts. From analysing power and cooling constraints in data centres to assessing network throughput, storage performance, compute density, database behaviour, and application concurrency patterns, you will play a key role in ensuring our infrastructure remains robust under real‑world and failure scenarios.

You will be central to project capacity assessments, validating solution designs before they are implemented and ensuring they are grounded in empirical data. This includes modelling load, assessing resilience under availability zone or data centre failures, and formally signing off on capacity requirements. In BAU, you will conduct regular health reviews, identify emerging bottlenecks, forecast growth, support incident investigations, and drive right‑sizing initiatives across both cloud and on‑prem estates.

Your work will span hybrid environments, including on‑prem data centres, IaaS and PaaS workloads, container orchestration platforms, and multi‑region cloud architectures. Ensuring consistency in capacity modelling across these landscapes will be a key part of your remit.

What you’ll bring

To succeed, you will bring strong practical engineering experience, ideally with exposure to Nutanix HCI, and a background in operations, platform, SRE, or infrastructure engineering roles. You will have tuned and optimised systems directly, performed in‑depth root cause analysis, and supported production systems at scale. A strong understanding of virtualisation platforms, storage technologies, networking fundamentals, database performance, application behaviour, and monitoring toolsets is essential, alongside scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.

We’re looking for someone naturally curious, investigative by nature, willing to challenge assumptions, and able to communicate clearly with architects and engineering leads. You should be comfortable moving between deep technical analysis and broader governance considerations, and confident engaging across different technology domains.

Experience in regulated or high‑availability environments, knowledge of resilience testing, cloud cost optimisation, or familiarity with ITIL capacity management practices would be beneficial, though not essential.

This is a hands‑on engineering role that goes far beyond reviewing management information or acting as a governance checkpoint. Success will be measured through reduced performance incidents, accurate forecasting, early identification of capacity constraints, improved resilience under failure scenarios, cost optimisation, and strong challenge during project design and validation.

If you’re motivated by technically immersive work and want to play a critical role in strengthening the resilience and scalability of complex infrastructure environments, we’d love to hear from you.

What’s in it for you

As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits. With our pension scheme, we’ll double match your contribution up to a company contribution of 10%.
