Job Title: Senior Technologist, Butter & Spreads
Job Summary: The Butter & Spreads Senior Technologist will support a team of food scientists conducting research for product development, formula optimization, and foundational learning projects for the Butter & Spreads businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
Executing and supporting benchtop, pilot plant, and production plant experiments, finished product performance testing, dairy product taste evaluations, and technical service support.
Developing proficiency on-the-job in benchtop procedures and pilot plant make relating to butter and spreads products.
Preparing and evaluating samples, submitting analytical testing, and conducting sensory evaluations.
Communicating data and documenting results and observations in ELN (electronic lab notebook).
Updating and writing SOPs (standard operating procedures).
Collecting, organizing, and sharing data in support of experiments.
Leading shelf-life studies and supporting turnovers.
Interpreting and updating specifications.
Leading small independent projects with guidance.
Required Competencies and Skills:

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Good understanding in experimental and scientific approach with solid data analysis capabilities.

Knowledge of safe food handling and GMPs (good manufacturing practices).
Desire to develop technical depth in dairy.
Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds of food materials.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to travel up to 20%.
Experience & Education:
Associates degree or higher, in a related technical field.
2 or more years of relevant experience.
This is an hourly position with a range of $28.54 - $42.80. In most cases, candidates offered employment can expect to be hired at a pay rate near the middle of our salary ranges.
