Domain expertise

• Support and manage SAP Basis activities for the ECC to S/4HANA migration project, including landscape design, sizing, installation, configuration, and system readiness.
• Coordinate with hosting/cloud providers and AMS vendor to execute system builds, patching, upgrades, and migrations.
• Administer SAP systems (S/4HANA, SAP Fiori, etc.) across development, quality, and production environments.
• Provide quality oversight for AMS-delivered Basis work to ensure adherence to corporate and SAP best practices.
• Operates independently, accountable for SAP system integrity and performance.
• Act as a technical liaison between internal IT infrastructure, vendor BASIS team, and SAP hosting provider.

Release management

• Manage SAP Transport Management System (TMS) and coordinate transports between environments.
• Coordinates release activities across multiple teams and stakeholders. Manages the release lifecycle, ensuring timely and quality deliverables.
• Ensure releases meet defined quality, security and compliance standards.

System administration

• Perform system monitoring, health checks, performance tuning, and troubleshooting to ensure high system availability.
• Advises on application security, licensing, upgrades, backups and disaster recovery needs.
• Assists with implementing and monitoring security policies and protocols across different systems.
• Ensure system compliance with IT security and audit requirements, including user access management in collaboration with the risk management and security teams.
• Prepare and maintain system documentation, operational procedures, and technical standards.

Job Requirements:

Education / Professional Qualification

The Job

Bachelor’s degree in the following:

o Computer Science,

o Information System

Or equivalent experiences.

• Minimum 9 years of experience in SAP Basis administration, with at least 3 years focused on SAP S/4HANA landscapes.
• Professional certifications in SAP Basis and/or SAP HANA Administration are an advantage.
• Relevant database certifications such as SAP HANA, Oracle, or MS SQL are an advantage.
• IT infrastructure or cloud certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) are an advantage.

Technical

• Strong technical expertise in SAP Basis administration across ECC and S/4HANA.
• In-depth knowledge of SAP system architecture, sizing, installation, upgrades, patching, and transport management.
• Experience with SAP HANA database administration, performance tuning, and backup/recovery strategies.
• Familiarity with SAP security concepts, including user administration, role management, and compliance with audit requirements.
• Proficiency in system monitoring tools, early watch alerts, and proactive issue resolution
• Awareness of cloud hosting platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and SAP on hyperscalers.
• Capable of leading technical planning and guiding BASIS operations.

• Vendor and project coordination skills to oversee technical deliverables and ensure adherence to quality and performance standards.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues under time constraints.
• Clear and effective communication skills to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Enthusiastic about learning new SAP technology.
