The Role
We’re hiring Comfy’s first in-house recruiter to build our hiring engine from the ground up.
You’ll shape how we find, attract, and close the people who define Comfy — from engineers and ML practitioners to designers, storytellers, and GTM operators.
You’ll design the systems that power our growth: sourcing strategies, interview loops, candidate experience, and the overall rhythm of how we hire.
This is a rare 0→1 opportunity — not just to fill roles fast, but to build a recruiting foundation that scales with intention and craft. You’ll be joining at a moment when the team is small and momentum is high — every hire you make will help shape Comfy’s trajectory.
You’ll work closely with the founders and early team to grow an organization that’s equal parts creative and technical — helping build one of the most loved creative tools in AI.
What You’ll Do
Own full-cycle recruiting across engineering, design, GTM, and G&A
Build and optimize the recruiting engine: design interview loops, scorecards, and ATS hygiene (we use Ashby) while tracking funnel health — pass-throughs, time-to-hire, and source mix — to continuously improve quality and speed
Partner with founders to forecast headcount, refine scopes, and uphold both bar and velocity
Source creatively: engage top talent through open-source communities, GitHub, Discord, and niche networks
Close candidates by articulating Comfy’s mission, trajectory, and equity value versus larger alternatives
Optionally scale into a Head of Talent role by hiring and mentoring recruiters and owning talent strategy company-wide
You Might Be a Fit If You
Thrive in Series A chaos — you bias toward action, iterate fast, and document just enough
Have hands-on full-cycle recruiting experience across technical and creative domains
Balance outbound hustle with in-house process ownership and discipline
Have built or want to build a recruiting function from scratch
Approach recruiting with first-principles thinking — you design systems that reflect clarity, judgment, and craft rather than convention
Communicate with clarity and calm — confident enough to push back with taste and judgment
Are data-literate: you speak in pass-throughs, conversion, and time-to-offer, not just anecdotes — and know that quality always trumps quantity
Are curious about AI, creative tools, and the people shaping them
Build trust across disciplines — comfortable hiring engineers today and GTM or ops leaders tomorrow
Are SF-based or open to joining our in-person rhythm near Alamo Square
Are excited by the chance to grow into a Head of Talent role as we scale
Comfy (https://www.comfy.org) is the AI creation engine for visual professionals who demand control over every model, every parameter, and every output. The most powerful workflow engine for visual AI.
Unlike tools that hide everything behind a prompt box, Comfy lets you connect models, processing steps, and outputs on a canvas where every decision is visible and every step is inspectable. It gives you the building blocks to create workflows nobody's imagined yet, and share them with everyone.
What started as an open-source project in 2023 now has 4 million users, 60,000+ community-built nodes, and 150,000+ daily downloads. It's used by artists, filmmakers, game studios, designers, researchers, and VFX houses, including teams at OpenAI, Netflix, Amazon Studios, Ubisoft, EA, and Tencent.
We're a small, intense team in San Francisco. Our team comes from Stability AI and Google, and many contributed to the ComfyUI ecosystem long before working here. Low ego, high ownership. We work hard and demand a lot of each other, but we have fun. Everyone here is building something meaningful that will end up being our life's work.
If this mission excites you and you view yourself as top-tier talent, your future latent self is waiting for you at Comfy.
Check out our Github (https://github.com/comfyanonymous/ComfyUI) and blog (https://blog.comfy.org). We recently raised $30M at a $500M valuation. The round was led by Craft, with participation from Pace Capital, Chemistry, TruArrow, and others.
