Position Overview:

The Senior Technical Program Manager (Senior TPM) supports the Product Development (PD) organization by strengthening portfolio-level planning, resolving cross-functional challenges, and providing on-the-ground coordination in Tokyo.

This role reports directly to the Director of Technical Program Management and will assist in the following functions:

·      Partner with Staff Technical Program Manager on developing Product Development Plan of Record (POR). Support the Staff TPM in the creation, maintenance, and refinement of the POR, while helping ensure effective execution across the PD organization.

·      Serves as department and function representative in Tokyo, acting as a local point of contact for PD teams and cross-functional partners. The role supports alignment, timely communication, and effective collaboration between Tokyo-based teams and global PD stakeholders.

·      Support program management and operations roles various business planning activities


Principle Duties / Responsibilities:Support for Portfolio Planning & Plan of Record (POR)

·       Support the Staff Technical Program Manager in the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Product Development Plan of Record (POR).

·       Help ensure the POR accurately reflects priorities, assumptions, cross-program dependencies, and organizational constraints.

·       Gather, validate, and incorporate inputs from stakeholders into the POR.

·       Prepare analyses and materials to support leadership reviews.

·       Incorporating leadership feedback, decisions and approvals into POR.

PD Representative

·       Serve as the PD Representative in Tokyo, supporting communication and coordination between the Product Development organization and other SIE teams based in Tokyo, including but not limited to HWEO and FSEE.

·       Support PD program prototype operations in Tokyo, including prototype tracking, allocation to partner teams, coordination of prototype usage and destruction in alignment with internal processes and guidelines.

·       Provide local, on-the-ground support for PD team members traveling to Tokyo.

·       Act as a trusted support partner when PD team members encounter execution challenges, ambiguity, or cross-team friction.

Support Business Planning activities

·      Support business planning and PMO activities that report program status to executives.

·      Interface with PMO, finance and other cross-functional business partners to coordinate standard business planning cadence activities, including fiscal year business planning activities.  

·      Investigate and analyze root causes across process, communication, technology, and organizational boundaries.

·      Support escalation, alignment, and propose solutions to conclusion to ensure issues are resolved effectively.

Required Knowledge / Skills:

·      Demonstrated experience in technical program management within complex product development environments.

·      Experience supporting integrated planning efforts across multiple teams or initiatives.

·      Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and development of practical countermeasures.

·      Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·      Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.

·      Familiarity with tools such as JIRA and Confluence.

·      Ability to work effectively with globally distributed teams.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in operations management or engineering related fields preferred. Masters or MBA are a plus.

  • Proven experience as a Technical Program Manager

  • Business-level fluency in both English and Japanese

Working Conditions:

  • Occasional domestic or international travel as required.

主な業務内容1. ポートフォリオ計画およびPlan of Record(POR)支援

·       PORが優先順位、前提条件、プログラム間の依存関係、組織上の制約を正確に反映していることを支援する

·       経営層からのフィードバック、意思決定、承認事項をPORへ反映する

2. PD Representative(東京拠点)

·       東京におけるPD Representativeとして、Product Development組織と、HWEO、FSEEを含む東京拠点の他のSIEチームとのコミュニケーションおよび連携を支援する

·       PDプログラムに関するプロトタイプ運用を東京にて支援し、プロトタイプの管理、関係チームへの供給、利用調整、および社内プロセス・ガイドラインに沿った廃棄対応を行う
