Job Description

As a hands-on Technical Product Manager, you will coordinate efforts from resources in multiple locations (domestic and/or international), to meet technology and product goals. You will play a central role in managing and transforming a complex ecosystem of applications that have a mix of legacy technologies and cloud native technologies.

You will be agile, adaptable and retrospective; not afraid to identify what we are doing wrong so we can fix it and what we are doing right so we can improve on it.

Job Duties

  • Authorize product iterations, approve designs and cost estimates for iterations, set priorities, help administer budgets. Participate in long-range planning. Responsible for ensuring project budgets, schedules, and performance standards are attained.
  • Participate in more critical day-to-day operational issues, remove barriers, and resolve issues.
  • Meets with business team members periodically to review issues/backlog and gather the requirements to create solutions
  • Responsible for troubleshooting a wide variety of complex integration problems and identifying solutions within broad application and functional expertise.
  • Interfaces with our product, operations, technical, and client services teams to drive the direction of systems integrations
  • Empower team members, drive operational excellence, high quality, and optimize spend.
  • Explore and research new and alternate technologies and platforms. Evaluate, recommend, and apply these alternate/new technologies, disseminating information throughout the team/department. This includes documenting large and complex assignments for knowledge transfer and developing expertise in multiple areas. Mentor other team members on area(s) of expertise. Provide technical guidance on a wide range of systems/projects.

Job Qualifications:

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, or related discipline, or equivalent related experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a software development
  • Proven ability to self-manage and drive results (organize, prioritize, time manage and focus).
  • Solid fundamentals in end-to-end application architecture for customer facing and internal applications.
  • Experience with cloud native ecosystems as well as legacy systems
  • Excellent communication skills required to translate business needs into technical terms
  • Ability to influence decision making across wide a variety of roles and levels in the organization
  • Proven record to handle multiple complex initiatives and deliver quality results
  • Demonstrated understanding in how to create value through enterprise technology, data and application architecture principles
  • Positive client engagement at senior levels, managing and navigating with peers and business line leader
  • Customer oriented: meets individual commitments, works with the team to achieve team commitments, responds to request in a timely manner, willing to help

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience in helping to design and implement large-scale application architecture
  • Experience applying XP and TDD to existing applications
